We ordered medium rare and medium Burgers but they were overcooked and dry. The sauteed vegetables were mostly under cooked carrots, the Caesar salad was very plain, both burgers were covered with so much very hot sauce and the bacon bacon burger was dripping with both syrup and overly peppered. Hangover Burger that we got lettuce wrapped had one little sad slice of avocado, probably about an eighth or a tenth of a small avocado,
It look great when it finally arrived about half-an-hour after we ordered. White our first few bites were fine, it became increasingly evident that very little effort was put into this.
It was slow and overpriced and just barely edible meatballs of a burger that was charred on the outside.
The one-time the server came by to ask how the food was, we both had our mouths full so we couldn't really say anything. As it took so long to get our food we were really hesitant to send it back and wait another half an hour .
When we were finally able to express our concerns, we have finished most of our meal, (I was not going to eat half a plate full of undercooked carrots, when the service said the sauteed veggies were usually brussel sprouts and broccoli) the manager gave us a 10% discount, however, I think we would have spent less money at a place like Red Robin and gotten much better food.
The upcharge for sweet potato fries which are my friend's favorite, was 3.99. the prices are overall higher than something like Applebee's or Red Robin which this menu they close comparison to.
This is just a bar pretending to be something better.
If you are in the area, I would recommend going to Legends across the street, or driving a few more blocks to go to Red Robin. Or the Habit. Save a few bucks and save yourself from...
Read moreSmall portion of food, good service. This old and famous restaurant is located right off the historical Highway of Rout 66. The parking is plenty and easy. Inside of the restaurant, it is very cold due to the strong air conditioner, so we decided to sit outside. When I saw the beautiful and unique fire place, I asked that if I could have the fire place on, the waitress kindly said :" Yes." The ambience was so warm and inviting and I felt very comfortable. The menu was most American food, with emphasized on steaks. However, the prices were very much above the average, such as 30 to 50 dollars, so I ordered a Jumbo shrimp pasta. I thought that Jumbo shrimp was supposed to be bigger than the large shrimp, even if they only give me 4 pieces of it. However, I was wrong. I only got a few pieces of large shrimp. The pasta was delicious and the shrimp was OK, but this was really not a Jumbo shrimp plate but a large shrimp plate. Plus, it costs almost 30 dollars for a medium amount of food, with no salad or vegetables, but two pieces of salty and greasy bread. Well, at least the outdoor patio was spacious and peaceful, with a lot of trees around it, made me feel that I was out of the city. Before long, I was bit by mosquitoes and I was feeling very irritated, so we had to retreat inside of the restaurant. The deco was sporty with a lot of display of Football and Baseball themes, so I felt the old glory of the...
Read moreEvery year after the Glendora All Class Reunion Picnic in October, members of the graduating class of 1969 aim to meet up for a more intimate visit at Club House 66. We started it the weekend of our 50th High School Reunion with dinner the night before our formal gala. We had our 70th birthday on the beautiful patio there 2 years later with a wonderful buffet dinner. We no longer have a committee planned reunion but we have committed to trying to make the Annual All Class Picnic and then having a no host gathering on the Club House 66 patio. This year there were 14 of us,74 year old, coming by after a day at Finkbiner Park to have drinks and dinner on a warm Indian Summer night to reminisce with childhood friends. Our server was Ruth and she was delightful and her team made us feel like royalty. They set up the table to greet the group and kept the drinks flowing , the water glasses full and brought us delicious food as we ordered it thoughout the night. Ruth made sure we each had our own bill. We didn’t even have to ask. We interacted with the other friendly families out on the patio and we all felt like we had come “home”. It was the perfect ending to a great day spent laughing about childhood memories and our journeys into adulthood. We will be back next year and plan to celebrate our Class of 1969’s 75th Birthday right there on that picturesque patio. Thank you Clubhouse 66, Ruth and the whole team who made us feel...
