We decided to try this place for the first time a couple of days ago. When my daughter went to pick up our food she was told it would be 10 minutes. She waited, got the food and came straight home (we live about 3 minutes from there). I ordered the Carne Asada Bowl which was supposed to have chopped steak, spanish rice, refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, mozzarella cheese and pico de gallo. All that was in the bowl was hamburger meat and rice with a pepper on the side (it was also ice cold). My daughter ordered a taco plate. The tacos were so soggy you couldn't even pick them up, it was also lacking the sides, and was cold. She took it back and explained the problems and the guy working there told her that if she wanted the sides she should have said so (even though that's what the menu states comes with it). He tried to blame it on her that it was cold, saying she took 30 minutes to pick it up, which was a total lie; she had to wait for it. He asked her if she wanted him to add the missing sides. She told him she wanted it remade because it was cold and looked terrible. He was very rude to her and continued to try to blame her for their screw up. She finally just requested a refund, left and went to Mi Tierra Cocina (which, by the way, was very good, they were very polite and even threw in extras because of the bad experience we'd had at Catrina's). Read moreCalled to order food tonight for me and my family (whom 3 of them are sick) and as I began to speak to a women on the phone a man randomly interrupted me asking if my name was Ryli. I replied yes and then he told me that I called Jan 31st and ordered food that I never picked up. I then said "no that was not me." Then the man (manager) told me I was wrong and it was me because it was my phone number and name (I was at a concert jan 31st in downtown btw) He then told me if I did not pay for this food that wasn't mine I would not be able to order again. Then after becoming very frustrated the man asked me if my name was Martin Riley. (which is not my name) and told me oh my bad wrong person. I explained how unprofessional I thought this was and they then told me that it was MY FAULT because I said I was Martin Riley at the beginning of the phone call. I am also a women and they are asking me if my name is Martin. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and WILL NOT be going back. If I could give them 0 stars I WOULD. Read moreI was thrilled to spot Catrina’s logo from afar—it’s always a promising sign of a great meal ahead. I’ve been enjoying their food for a while now, and it’s exciting to see more locations popping up across the metro area. It’s comforting to know there’s almost always one nearby!
That said, I did notice a couple of things during this visit. The two staff members at this location were polite but came across as a bit flat in their customer service—nothing major, but it did make the interaction feel slightly awkward. Additionally, the music was noticeably loud, which made communication challenging. I found myself raising my voice just to be heard, and it seemed like the employee was struggling to hear me too.
