Very disappointed as a first time patient. I felt rushed to pick out my frames. I picked out an ugly cheap looking pair. I was told "I don't think your insurance will cover anything" but I paid a $4 copay and I'm not sure what for, then. I asked what about Amblyopia and they said "I don't think it covers that." First red flag. It is not clear to me what I'm paying for or what's covered and I don't believe what I was told. Im not taking their word for it. That's not an acceptable answer. Unprofessional and unhelpful is how I would describe my whole experience at Glenpool Eye Care. They were having issues with their card reader. They swiped my card a few times. Jacob Gosnell said I could pay with my card over the phone. The total was $189. I wasn't comfortable with that so I came back with $200 cash I borrowed from someone because I am poor. I asked for a receipt. Caleb asked me if i was going to the fair. Hmm 🤔 Two receipts were printed out and Caleb put down the first receipt on his table and said to me "not this one". Then Jacob picked up that first receipt and turned it face down so I couldnt see what was on it. Then Caleb handed me the second receipt. It states I paid $35 for a Refraction and $20 Eldom Retinal Scan. Then Jacob told me they'd call me when they're ready, but he didn't tell me about how long that would be. As a first time patient I want Clear & honest communication. The second receipt is for the glasses that I paid for. I wasn't given a receipt and I'm still waiting on my glasses. This is extremely alarming. I called to ask when they'd be ready and I was told they were on order. I went up to Glenpool Eye Care after that and was told there is no record of my payment for the glasses. How are my glasses on order if there is no record to see? Hmm 🤔 Then Jacob said he's having accounting problems and needs to reverse engineer my receipt because he is unable to produce one for me. On Friday the printer prints both pages of receipts and he only hands me one of them. How are you able to produce a receipt then? The following Monday Jacob tells me he can't produce a reciept and has to reverse engineer one so he asks if he can email a reciept to me later. This is fraud. Why else would he not want me to see the cost of the glasses? I want the receipt and the glasses I paid for. I want the $134 and the glasses to be accounted for. I want a detailed itemized list of the services I paid for at Glenpool Eye Care which totaled to be $189 and includes the $4 co-pay, the Refraction was $35, the Eldom retinal scan was $20, and presciption glasses which would be $130. I want to know where every penny spent went and I won't spend more pennies here. Don't let these people take advantage of you. This is wrong what...
Read moreEye exam was terrific. Doctor was kind and thorough. My problem was calling ahead, giving them my insurance information to find out the costs. I was told I would be charged $20 for my exam. When my exam was over, I felt rushed with choosing frames, making decisions. Then when checking out I was informed my exam was now $40. I wasn’t told about the additional costs until time to checkout. When I mentioned my copay was $20 I was told the added $20 was for additional services. Then I was informed of additional $50 in costs when initially I was told using my old frames wouldn’t be an issue because of my insurance covering lenses and I was supplying my old frames. Then I was told checking out I had to pay $40 additional just to use my old frames as a processing fee. All in I walked out $90 spent for an exam and to use my supplies frames.
For a first time patient, I wasn’t impressed at all with the frames and checkout...
Read moreMy prescription was for bifocals. I wasn’t able to read or use them daily for work without a headache along with not being able to see my computer screen up close. They asked me to wear them for a few days to see if I was able to adjust to them. When I wasn’t able to they told me I could change my prescription one time at no cost so went with straight readers instead of my prescription being bifocals. They are all super nice and easy to work with but that doesn’t take away the sting of paying $600 dollars for readers that I could’ve purchased from Amazon and saved all that money. Also I reused frames from my old glasses to cut down on cost but that didn’t go as planned. Live and learn is...
