Well, well, what do you know... I am not even thinking about food, and what do I see out of the corner of my eye? Another Mi Tierra hidden and tucked in this shopping mall, just there so conveniently waiting for any lost souls in need of coming back to life. And alive I did come back. I quickly parked and ran out to the front door, ready to eat whatever appeals to my eyes or any of my other senses. As I walked in, I could feel tranquility and peace. The restaurant was empty, no customers. A single waiter welcomed me with a smile and offered me a table. A drink and chips followed. A quick glance at the menu and I was ready to order. The menu had a lot of items and small font. For me, it's easy to read, but I can't imagine an older person or a person with trouble seeing. The lunch menu had solid items that I consider a must in any Mexican lunch menu. All I have to recommend is that your menu be organized a bit less crowded. It can be organized with fewer items and yet still be a solid menu.
As I waited, which was not very long, I took a trip to the bathroom to wash up but also to check for cleanliness and design. The bathrooms were just the right size and properly cleaned and designed. Back to my table, the food was ready. I must say, the red salsa that came with the chips was so good that I saved it for my food. The salsa was such a hit I would buy bottles of it and take it home if I could! The salsa made the beef flautas ten times better! The other salsa and the white stuff, I didnât really care for it. I recommend that you offer it upon request because it feels bad knowing it's going to be wasted.
So, here are some recommendations starting from the entrance:
Your façade blends too much with the two businesses on each side. The sign on the roof makes it stand out, but the windows need a different way to stand out.
The menu. It really is no big deal, but I bet it would make your main dishes really stand out, making your kitchen pantry have fewer items and save money on less popular items. I would pick the 20 most favorite dishes and focus on those, and then create a lunch menu based on those items. People will remember your menu so well that they will order without it!
I would recommend sizing the chips and salsa according to the number of guests. If one person only comes in, the chips and salsa offered can be smaller, therefore minimizing waste when the guest doesnât eat them.
Other than that, you guys are really making a difference and providing the comfort food we all love with a clean, modern style! Oh, and one more thing â your prices are awesome!! Ten bucks and some change for the flautas, chips, and salsa â thatâs the real...
Read moreI doordash and it was literally my second order ever, and when I accepted the order it did not tell me I would be required to have a hot bag. I usually uber, Iâm not completely unfamiliar with navigating delivery apps. With that being said, I enter the restaurant and told them what orders I was picking up and I was rudely told âyou cant pick it up if you don't have a hot bagâ and I said âa what?â then the man shortly responded with âif you canât understand me then read your instructions â and walked away. extremely rude business practices, considering I was not told I needed the hot bag until I told the app I arrived at the restaurant. He could have taken a moment to explain to me what that was, sorry for the inconvenience, and sent me on my way. Instead I was left dumbfounded and still confused. Also, the âIf you cant understand meâ part was unnecessary. They do have a disclaimer on the door, but as a driver Iâm trying to navigate too many things at once and multitask. I totally understand needing a hot bag to complete the order. The issue here is how rude the staff was to me and how the situation was handled. If they were nicer about it I would not have left this review.
If you are the business reading this, please understand that we do not know to bring a hot bag until we get to the restaurant and press âI have arrived.â So your rudeness is inexcusable. Treat...
Read moreWhen we go out to eat itâs usually a special occasion and we arenât looking for sub-par food. If we wanted that we would eat at McDonalds. Our number one rule when looking for a sit down restaurant is the food has to be better than what my wife can make at home.
So far Mi Tierra Cocina Mexicana has delivered! We have eaten here twice and we are more impressed the second time than we were the first.
The first thing I want to mention is the UNREAL crunch on those empanadas! Absolutely satisfying. There is no dampness or greasiness, the flavor is amazing, and when I ate the leftovers we brought home later in the evening they were still just as light and crunchy! My wife is now obsessed with finding the secret to these magical empanadas.
My wife ordered the chimichangas because they were so good the first time that she wanted to get them again. I ordered the street tacos and had one of each kind. I just want to say that not only was the food high quality and fresh, but the amount of food that came was so much that there was no way we could eat it all in one sitting, though I admit we tried.
The restaurant itself is clean and classy, staff were fast and friendly, if youâre a purist when it comes to guacamole then they will not disappoint. Easily the best new sit down restaurant in Glenpool! I sure hope they...
