The structure is shabby inside and out but clean. Overall a good selection of the essentials. The 10# bags of potatoes are of low quality. A lot of blemishes and undesirable dark spots once they are peeled. The meat selection is okay. The bakery/deli is very dated and is something straight out of 1987. Some of the frozen foods always have ice crystals inside the package as if it has been thawed and refroze. A good selection of wines and craft beers. The fried chicken in the deli used to be very good but as of late it looks very dried out and has been under the heat lamps too long. I have not purchased any in the last 9 months. They have 5.00 sushi on Fridays. I have not tried it yet but it looks very fresh. Overall the cashiers are adequate ranging from curt to mildly friendly.
Update: This location is in the midst of a makeover inside and out. It looks like the tile floors are being upgraded to faux hardwood floors. It is starting to look nice. The old freezer cases are out and new ones in. The frozen food section has definitely taken a turn for the better with new cases. The bakery/deli is still downtrodden. It always looks dirty/shabby back there in the production area. It still looks like the concept is stuck in the 80's. The meat department has been upgraded with new cases in the lunch meat section. It looks nice. I finally tried the 5.00 sushi last Friday. It is very good. I might be mistaken but the rice is mixed with rice wine vinegar before being rolled. It gives the rice a nice stand alone taste.
There is currently a citywide mask mandate in place. Evidently Country Mart didn't get the memo. Half the customers and some employees are not wearing masks. 2 out of every 10 employees...
Read moreReading through the reviews, I see a few negative ones. Some of the complaints just don't make sense to me. I spoke with several of the employees and they were extremely friendly and helpful. The produce section is absolutely beautiful, the store is very clean, well lit and well-organized. Also the food in the deli section looked much nicer than Wally world. I have the Walmart app on my phone so it is easy to check and compare prices. I was not surprised to see that some of the items that I regularly buy were a bit more expensive than walmart. But then again a small store simply doesn't have the bulk buying power as does a large chain. What did surprise me was that out of the 15 or 20 items that I checked more than half of them were actually cheaper than Walmart! I live in Tulsa and am not regularly in the area but I plan on having my grocery list with me when I am in the area and will definitely be...
Read moreInsanely high prices on some items you can purchase at the Dollar General next door for a third of the price. Poor selection of vegetables, and the vegetables they have are the poorest examples. I also get the second worst customer service of any place on earth here. The children they hire to work the registers are unfriendly, complacent, inexperienced, untrained, and aloof. Every time I visit this store, I have to prevent the cashier/bagger from crushing fragile items when they try to put everything I purchase in one bag. The management is always locked away in their little penalty box, unconcerned with what is going on. I have never seen a manager anywhere in the store besides the penalty box. This...
