Sunshine & Moons, LLC — Restaurant in Glenwood Springs

My friends and I were visiting Glenwood Springs for our first annual Friendsgiving Vacation. We rented a cabin up near Sunlight with a full kitchen so that we could throw down some Thanksgiving dinner. In preparation for that epic meal we discussed all that we'd make but we decided that instead of making desserts, we should check out a local bakery and indulge in some goodies while lending our patronage to a local business. We looked up a lot of businesses and decided on Sunshine & Moons.

We were wanting a pie but we didn't realize that they were made to order. The friendly staff at Sunshine and Moons were very happy to accommodate our accidental last minute request and in doing so saved Thanksgiving. We went out for a day of romping around at Hanging Lake and when we returned, they had our Pecan Pie waiting for us in all of it's sweet glory. What made that even nicer is that we had taken a lot longer than we had anticipated on the hike and they had to stay a little past closing time to get us our pie--they were happy to accommodate and didn't make us feel like jerks in the process. We also bought a bunch of other sundry goodies from them that we thoroughly enjoyed on the long trip back to Cañon City.

We definitely endorse Sunshine and Moons for all of your sweet tooth cravings. You won't be disappointed by the quality and great service. Glad we could support a Glenwood Springs local business. If we return, we'll be getting some more goodies!...

Best bakery in the Roaring Fork Valley. Sarah made our wedding cake and is now the only person worthy of making cakes for special occasions (sorry mom and grandma). Her butter pecan cookies…well, we’re delusional if we walk out of there thinking we have enough of them. However many you have, get more. She also makes amazing sourdough bread, challah, and sweetbreads. Her chocolates are so phenomenal - get the salted caramel and tell me you disagree. We just tried her gluten free lemon curd cookies and I wouldn’t have known they were gluten free at all. Okay last thing - coconut cream pie. This pie is so good, so light, fluffy, perfect texture, perfect balance of everything and not so sweet that’s all you taste, if you aren’t a pie person it’s because you haven’t had Sarah’s pies. Sarah and her team are amazing! We were referred to the bakery through Hotel Colorado for our wedding. Sarah was extremely helpful as we communicated over email about what we wanted for our wedding cake. Do to COVID, we were able to pick 3 different cupcakes to taste and all of them were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Lemon with Lemon filling or raspberry filling. They are a little pricy BUT it's 100% worth it. I am very satisfied.
