We were hooked to try when walking by last summer. Venue looked very interesting especially for Gloucester. Excellent email updates on shows to keep in our minds! Website telling of trivia contest so our band of 8 came to eat & participate! Table was in the sweet banquette at windows in the front. Nice! Server (Sam) immediately attended to our table with a great attitude and wide smile. Attentive without being pushy-great balance! Drink orders taken, bread basket arrived. Water poured & bottles left on table-excellent. Menu looked inviting/exciting but most of us felt it fell short on delivering & meeting expectations. Drinks were adequate but pricey. Shrimp cocktail looked uninspiring and like small/medium supermarket shrimp. Cocktail sauce was perfect however. BBQ-Wings hit the mark! Scallops were meh. Blackened fish tacos were lightly seasoned and well liked. The halibut had a nice crust & romesco was good but fish was bone dry/overcooked.😐 Fried fish tacos were “fine”. Wished had pico or some other accompaniments. Arancini were OK. Lobster roll was well liked. Grilled watermellon salad was OK. My lobster carbonara was disappointing & overpriced. Angel hair pasta not the best choice for this dish. Egg yolk undetectable. It was really not something I would order for even 1/2 its market price. Dessert menu very limited (3 items) including root beer float. Portions on tiramisu were quite tight and not enough for any sharing. Despite the food, this place has HUGE potential if they can ramp up their dining quality. Totally achievable if given the attention. We WANT this place to make it. It’s important to support the music performing arts (bands) as a premiere venue. BTW, the trivia was very fun! The format on phones was well orchestrated and easy to participate! PS: need wet naps if serving wings. Manager said on order. Now you know...
Read morePopped in for the JP Harris show and grabbed dindin beforehand. All waitstaff and venue crew were wonderful. The food was pretty average though. Shoe string fries were minuscule and a tad flimsy. Gotta get them fries crispy, folks. I snagged a chicken sandwich and the bread was so dry it began breaking apart while I was eating. Dry, crumbly bread is no fun. My pal ate a burger and he didn’t complain about dry bread but he’s also an eating machine and has the taste palette of a goat. The lady I was with got a burger without the bun due to gluten issues. She was a little bummed that the burg didn’t include your typical flair like lettuce or tomatos or onions or whatever. When it arrived I thought she got a mini meatloaf. It looked like a baby meatloaf with sauce on it. Pretty lackluster stuff. Though, a teeny tiny meatloaf does sound like a good time.
The venue for the muzak is rad. The whole Cut experience is rad. It looks great and if it wasn’t for my goat friend’s nonstop gas passing, I’m sure the place smelled lovely as well.
One bit of advice for the music aspect is that the sound needs some finagling. The opener’s mic was too loud and we could barely understand what he was saying, and then the headliner came on and the mic wasnt loud enough. So it was a weird back and forth with the sound. The lighting was great and the nice lamps on the sides of the stage that highlight the merch booths was a wonderful touch.
So yeah, The Cut rules. Just finagle the sound, firm up the fries, wet up the bread and put a midget meat loaf...
Read morePretty cool place. They recently started opening up in the evenings for dinner. Fun place to eat if you have kids. They have arcade games, board games, and jenga to play. Some of the machines did eat up some of our quarters. Lost 1.50; but still fun! They had a boxing game, racing game, pinball machine, basketball game, and a golf game. Bring cash/quarters for the games! The food is ok. Reminds me of food truck style. Fish tacos are small very fried. They were tasty but not my fav around town. My son had the smash burger and inhaled it! The fries were yummy! The restaurant set up is nice and roomy. When you walk in, there aren’t really any instructions. If you’re visiting from out of town with no knowledge of this place- You don’t really know what you’re doing. I’m live in town and still had no clue what I was doing 🤣 Here’s a run down- You seat yourself, then scan a barcode at your table to order food. I think you’re supposed to pick it up at the window but someone ended up bring it to our table. Water is set up at a separate table - grab a cup/refill anytime. Any other drinks- soda, juice, etc- you order at the bar. There really isn’t an explanation about any of this in the restaurant. The staff is very friendly though. They answered all my questions pleasantly :) Overall, good experience. We will def go back. My son had a blast and it was nice to hangout and play games with him while also not having to...
