Cozy cafe with a home town feel. The service was friendly and helpful. The dining area and the bathroom seemed clean and well taken care of. They were gracious enough to put together a fruit bowl for me with fresh apples and orange slices, in addition to a lovely bowl of yogurt with granola, fresh blueberries and bananas. It was perfect and exactly what I was hoping for. Even though I seldom enjoy diner coffee, the coffee was actually good and served in an appropriate, hefty diner mug. There was a friendly crowd of locals there, and we all know locals don't frequent a place unless the food is good and reasonably priced, and the service friendly. Altogether a very nice experience for breakfast before my whale watching tour.

I stopped at this café this morning and purchased two croissants. They were burnt! Absolutely outrageous that they would sell baked goods that they themselves messed up. This café used to be lovely and it now has a real grunge factor. As I waited for my order, I observed several employees putting baked goods into bags without gloves – a clear violation of the board of health policies. I’d also like to add that this is the first time in my life I’ve ever been served sold a burnt croissant.

This great little restaurant is so much more than a coffee shop! Super friendly staff with excellent food. Hubs had scrambled eggs, SPAM and cinnamon toast. I had eggs, Portuguese sausage and Anadama bread. All were delicious. All their breads are homemade in the kitchen. When the server (one of the sisters?) saw that my toast was slightly burnt, she brought me a bwhole new order without me having to ask. I saw some berry French toast at another table that looked really good.

We have eaten here probably a dozen times and it has always been our go to for breakfast. Today was the last time we will eat here. The waitress was slow to take our order, and then the guy fixing the hinge on the bathroom door making a complete ruckus with his drill, was completely ridiculous. Why don’t you fix the bathroom door at some point that is not during your breakfast hours? To top it off we paid with both cash and credit card. The waitress was confused by this and insulted me for the hesitation in how I wanted the bill paid for. I left part of a tip on the credit card and then more was going to be left with cash from our party of 5. The waitress immediately insulted me about the amount of tip left on the credit card and slammed my receipt down on the counter. She made several more insulting comments. We still left her the remaining tip in cash that resulted in a total of a 20 percent tip, but I don’t really know why. I won’t step foot in there ever again. The foods ok, but I wouldn’t write home about it. There are plenty of other places to eat in this town. I’d go out of my way to go to the next town over if I had to. I don’t ever write reviews, but this ladies attitude is worthy of writing...

When I went to school at Auburn, Alabama, thirty-two years ago I was introduced to a breakfast dish that would become my favorite: biscuits and gravy. Since then, if I'm ever in a restaurant that makes it I have to try it. There are an almost limitless number of variations on the biscuits, the gravy, and the sausage in or out of the gravy. This morning I stumbled across Two Sisters in Gloucester, a spot loaded with locals, and found biscuits and gravy on the menu. Their biscuits and gravy was among the best I've ever had, from the Deep South to the Maine seacoast. The biscuits were thick and fresh, a perfect balance of moist and dry. Gravy was made with linguica, a Portuguese sausage that's spicy but not overpowering. Portion size was perfect and $7.25 price was very inexpensive. I also had two eggs and hash browns with peppers and onions for an extra four dollars. Coffee was very good. It appeared that one sister was the cook and the other was the server. Service was excellent. I look forward to returning and trying...

We arrived while it was raining. We were a bigger party, but they had a table half could sit at. Instead we were sent to wait outside. When both tables appeared to be available we came back in but were told they were not ready. As soon as the door shut we were waved in.

We were asked if we wanted coffee and we said no. The lady then proceeded to say she needed to know so we said no again.

One person from our group brought in closed drinks. We were told they had to be removed from the restaurant.

When we received our food they forgot one of the meals. We waited to make sure they were not brining out more and nicely let them know. The lady told the other lady that worked there and she rudely said she gave us everything. Then when they realized they missed an order they quickly threw it together. They only put 2 potatoes on the plate while every other plate had a pile. They brought the wrong bread and then brought some bread I have no idea on what it was. The oatmeal was extremely dry. Pancakes were edible....
