The Winnetka Chipotle off Hwy 55 and Winnetka was one of few my worst experiences ever. After I said "hello" to the the intial woman in the line, my comment seemed to be ignored. No eye contact or smile. She had asked what I wanted in which I first ordered my choice "A chicken burrito with black beans and brown rice." 5 seconds later, she asked me my first selction again. No worries, I repeated my choice again. I then ordered my GF's selection. My GF had texted me her selection with her desired choice & ingredients so I was reading it to this same woman. I apologize that I had read it from a text message & didn't memorize all the ingredients-please forgive me. The same woman didn't seem to talk very loud and had a softer voice. She had mumbled a question and I replied, "I am so sorry, I didn't hear you." I was ignored. She asked me another question in line & once again I did not hear her (mind you I had a hearing exam a year ago and have perfect hearing) I observed her rolling her eyes at me, no eye contact, and blowing air out of mouth with noticeable sighs. It definitely seemed like I had ruined her evening. Maybe some people shouldn't work in the food industry when they have poor customer service skills. I mentioned my unpleasant experience to her female co-worker and the male co-worker at the register in line. They were both kind and polite. The male offered to get the manager and I said I would call when I arrived home.
After I took my Chipotle food home, I contacted Chipotle. The woman that answered the telephone (likely the same woman) asked me why I wanted to talk to the Manager and what the issue was about. I stated, "it is a personal matter between the Manager and me." After some noise in the background, a female was on the phone (who knows this was the real Manager or just a co-worker who the accused woman had put up to act like the Manager. The Manager didn't identify herself. She simply stated what time I was there & for a physical description of the woman. The Manager had replied, "I just had a complaint 10 minutes ago towards the same employee." I told the Manager that "the woman was very rude & disrespectful. " The Manager said "I will talj to her." The Manager didn't even ask me at that point what happened. I said "do u want to hear the story?" She replied "yes." I told her the story and said "due to my horrible experience, I will probably never go that Chipotle again." The Manager apologized.
What I am really perplexed & puzzled about all of this is I had to repeat my menu selection 3x to this woman and it was no problem on my part. However, she was politely cued 2x on my part that I did not hear her and she THEN gets condescending and brings a whole lot of attitude, inpatience, and intolerance. Why do u think you are special?? This woman needs to get out of the public eye where customer relations is not a priority and maybe work in an isolated room independently where won't be surrounded my human beings.
Have had great experiences at Chipotle as a whole, but definitely not at this...
Read moreI love chipotle, but this is probably one of the worst locations that I've ever been to. The only reason I go to this one is because it is only a couple of minutes away from my home. They are only busy during the lunch and night rush, but other than that the people traffic isn't bad. The first two times I tried ordering through the mobile app, they didn't had my order ready by the time it said it would be ready. I decided I was going to give the app-ordering one more chance (worst mistake). The app said the order would be ready in 10-15 minutes and I arrived 20 minutes after ordering. Firstly. they had not yet started my order, and they had even lost the slip with the ordered items on it. I had to explain again what I wanted for my order, and I watched as they made the food in a messy rush, in between helping other customers. My order was the put into a pile with other customer's food, before it was put into a bag. I should have double-checked the items before I left, because the bowl was completely wrong (they had given it to another customer, and I got theirs), but the burrito was right. After I arrived home (and opened the bowl), I called back and asked for a manager, and explained all of the bad experiences that I've had there, and that the bowl in my order was wrong. I was very frustrated and un-amused, at this point. She proceeded to tell me to drive back to the restaurant, and they would re-make the order for me and give me free chips/guac. When I arrived back to the restaurant, they had re-prepared the ENTIRE order, even though I told the manager it was only the bowl that was wrong. Additionally, my partner recently tried to order with the app, and again they did not have his order ready. upon arrival, we saw that it was a ghost town in the restaurant, so there was no excuse for having not prepared it. They only got his order ready AFTER helping someone that had walked in after him. We continue to go to this chipotle, as it's the closest one, but we order on the inside now, even though the customer service is subpar, either way. If you can, I would avoid this location...
Read moreAfter 16 years i don't feel comfortable letting people dine here without a warning. (I am also a local in Golden valley who's been going to this location for about 16 yrs)
My second to last time coming to this location. My carnitas bowl had a hair in it. To add insult to injury the bag of chips I had were both crushed. AND SOOOOOGGGY!!! I came at about 2:30 PM. With no rush at all
My most recent visit was during a rush the store manager appeared to be burrito 1&2 and salsa's 1&2 first red light under staffed and manager over worked. Second red light gelatinous quesso dip sweats chips weren't bagged when new batch was made instead it was stuck in a huge pan and on order was bagged. This I ordered a carnitas bowl and a carne asada bowl. Both were vastly low portioned (1/3 the bowl) the carne asada was vastly caked in seasoning(SKIP THE HOT SAUCE.) whole interaction while ordering felt like incompetent and just rushed. And yes it was during the dinner rush but don't take it out on the customer. Also there was a massive lack of communication between servers and cooks. No warnings about when things were getting low. It felt more like a zoo.
I thought I could justify what has happened but at this point I've just about had it. It's sad to see 16 yrs of joy at this location and I don't think I have it in me to return I think I'll go to a different Chipotle a little further away. This is a changed Chipotle from what I remember when I was younger. (I've had to think now about 3 revisions to my review and I've decided I need to leave my honest true opinion.) Go to a Chipotle location that actually respects what it means to make a burrito/bowl. It sucks to see this location make so many clumsy mistakes. In my humble opinion I'm not sure there's a way to save this location. Despite the recent...
