A friend and I arrived during happy hour. We were there to catch up with each other, but also to discuss some business, so we had our laptops with us. We ordered multiple appetizers and drinks and stayed past happy hour. Our bill was at about $100 and we still had full drinks when the waitress came over and notified us there was a 7pm reservation coming so we had to leave by then.
There was no wait at the door, though it had become busier for dinner time. We were in no way being disruptive. We found this really strange to be asked to leave. So I asked her if there was simply someone who had reserved this specific booth we were sitting at? We were happy to move tables if that is the case. She just looked at me and rudely replied “I’ll just go grab your check” and walked away. By this point we were entirely confused as to why this was happening. We looked online and made a 7pm reservation for ourselves, because we weren’t finished and wanted to stay longer and order more items. We told her we were able to make a reservation so can we please move to a different table? She didn’t like that at all.
She said if we order an entree now we can stay. We were not loitering by any means, continuously ordering things. She mentioned something about happy hour-The appetizers cost as much as meals, and I always like to order appetizers as my meals. Everything here is overpriced. Not everything we purchased was a happy hour discount and we were there past happy hour. We were told they have a cap on how long someone can have a table. Which would only make sense to me if we had stopped ordering, but we were spending money our entire visit. I don’t know why we were treated like this, but we were really offended and I left very upset without even finishing my drink (because “our time was up”).
I will never return to this place. I have never felt so mistreated at an establishment. It’s actually my 2nd bad experience with them in the past year, but I decided to give it another chance yesterday. I tipped MORE than 20% and I don’t know why. I guess I was trying to prove we weren’t the type of people they apparently thought we were. I don’t understand what the difference is of a new group arriving and ordering at our table vs. us staying and continuing to purchase items.
I wish I could understand the reason we were...
Read moreCast Iron started our journey into Restaurant Week by setting the bar pretty high. There were 5 in our party, we had a reservation and were seated quickly after the party at our booth finished. Our waitress was efficient, fun and very nice. She, and the rest of the wait staff had perfect timing. We enjoyed deviled eggs, green chili and the butternut squash and apple salad. All were great. The eggs were unique and beautifully presented. There wasn't one complaint from anyone at the table about any of the entrees, from a couple of different burgers, hot chicken, chimichuri steak and the rueben. The s'more pot de creme were an adorable end to the meal. I won't stop raving about the mini bread pudding. It wasn't so mini considering how rich it is. It was as beautifully presented as the deviled egg and had 2 types of magical cream sauces on top. I shared with my table mates and they thought it was great, also. I have to mention the unique and gorgeous craft cocktails, too. From the old fashioned which was perfect to the espresso martini, we all loved our adult beverages. It was Friday night and jam packed in the restaurant but the atmosphere was welcoming and other patrons were obviously having a great meal, too. We barely noticed the buzz in the building because we were concentrating on our fabulous meal. Thanks for a great start to our Restaurant...
