I’ve seen heaven and its tables were covered with Labenese food. This unassuming little gem sits in a humble strip mall, tucked into the back corner of Golden, in a spot far too overlooked. DO NOT OVERLOOK.
Upon entrance, the place is both nicely decorated and relatively standard for casual dining, but there are small ornaments to give the food’s homeland a nod. I started with a Turkish coffee, served in the custom silver cup and tasting like Istanbul. Because I’m (mildly) insane, we brought our 15-month old, but she did well and the scene wasn’t stuffy. In fact, the table next to us had kiddos and they were stuffing their cute little faces with the food, so I felt comfortable with the menu. Note, I do have an adventurous eater, but there were things on the menu even a small advocate of the chicken fingers diet would approve of.
Let’s start with the pita. Were pigs to sprout wings and I take on the daunting task of pregnancy again, I truly believe my husband would be knocking at this place’s door on a weekly basis to order that pita in bulk. It’s huge, lightly crisp on the outside, soft and a little sweet on the inside, and fresh from the oven. After one bite, I felt a powerful dejavu for the pretzels served at Chicago’s Prost restaurant, which is one of the ultimate IYKYK’s for Chicago in my humble opinion. I want this pita on my plate for every meal, my trainer be damned.
I foolishly told Tim “we should order a few dishes to go to have a couple meals for this week”. But once the food arrived, there was need. We ordered the sampler platter, a gyro, and the chicken shwarma. These little three dishes and the massive complimentary pita on the side will feed my family for the week.
The chicken was so flavorful and the rice tender. The euro was delicious, and the euro meat the perfect crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth tender on the inside. Even the simple side salad was fresh and flavorful. The sampler was not only beautiful and huge, but every dip was delicious and the green beans and grape leaves were excellent. The falafel resembled my favorite hush puppies from the south — which is a compliment as I’m a sort of expert in the fried balls of carb arena and a little picky in how it’s done to be worth the ding to my diet.
As for leftovers? Fire up the air fryer. It’s just as good left over, folks.
Go. Go now. Run. It’s...

Friendly Accommodating
Amir combo Humus good Babaganoush good Falfel a little dry Beef a bit over cooked Chicken cooked we'll, lightly seasoned could have used more
No club soda
Dad's gyro meat, very tender and flavorful, very clean and appealing looking plate
Moms lamb shank very good on par with three best lamb they've had throughout the country
Appropriate sized dining room, limited seating outside.
Bathrooms were in dire need of cleaning and servicing. Quite unbecoming a restaurant.
Dining room floor needed cleaning under tables.
Front of the house staffing while polite and very accommodating were lacking a certain light footed service needed during a dinner rush and likely needed at least 1 more experienced person. Proper training should be a priority.
During the dinner dirty dishes piled up on the customer counter, unsanitary, and unsightly. Further exhibiting the need for a more fluid front of the house experience, training, training training.
Kitchen staff has exposed facial hair around food. Clean, close and trimmed, fine, but, mountain man beards should be contained around a hot kitchen.
Pricing was good for the amount and quality of food, and they offer a military discount.
Only coke products available and tap water through the coke machine.
Overall, this Mediterranean restaurant beautifully located in the foothills of Golden has massive potential for outstanding food and service to match, if they can shore up their service and cleanliness issues.
I would definitely consider visiting here again for dine in or take out when we're...
Read moreWow!!! The food here is awesome! The Gyro is not your typical greek type gyro, but a Lebanese style gyro with marinated vegetables. I’m not a big fan of cooked veggies, but these veggies are incredible and complement the meat very well. The gyro meat is amazing and unlike any meat I’ve had on a gyro. It is not a processed meat that I can buy in a bag at Costco. It is a thicker, hand sliced meat with expertly applied seasoning. The meat serving is large and plentiful, but it tastes so good that you’ll want more, which you can buy by the pound and take home! Their French fries are also awesome and plentiful with a very good seasoning. They don’t skimp here, which I appreciate when eating out. If you haven’t tried oven warmed pita bread, you have to give it try. They use the same oven that the pizza is baked in to warm the bread. It comes out hot and fluffy and unlike any pita I have ever had. Their pizza is the best. My go to is the cheese pizza, but their other specialty pizzas are also amazing. They have toppings that I have never seen added to a pizza, so I’m assuming they are more traditional to Lebanese style pizza. If you are thirsty, you have to try their mint tea. I’ve made mint tea at home many times, but it is never as good as their tea. Their baclava is also very good and makes for a great dessert to top off the meal. Lastly, I found the staff to be very friendly. The servers for dine-in are courteous and attentive and the lady that works the cash register is also very friendly. Give this...
