EDIT The owner responded to this review instantly as shown below, directing me to contact him. I emailed him immediately explaining these issues and offered to edit my review if he wanted to make this right. Never got a response back, it's been over a month. So they respond to reviews on here to make it look like they care, but don't actually follow up after directing us to reach out to them.
We live down the street from this place, and have ordered food here many times over the last 8 years. Have had a horrible experience almost every time the past couple of years, so after we have emailed the owners a couple times with no response I'm going ahead with a review.
This place makes bagels and in the afternoon/evenings they make pizza too. They have online ordering, so we use that when ordering slices and whole pizzas for takeout. They give you a pickup time, and every time we've gone to pick up our order well after the pickup time , they haven't even started it yet. We've waited almost 30 minutes PAST the pickup time for two slices of pizza. And if we order a whole pizza, it's been even longer. This has happened almost every time for the past two years. Don't take online orders if you can't handle them!
On top of this, the service is abhorrent. There is no system, it's a always a chaotic scene of people trying to pickup orders, waiting to order, etc. Most of the staff seems like they couldn't care less about helping customers, we usually stand at the register for a long time before anyone comes to help. Often very rude, especially the lady who seems to manage the front.
Glad Blue Pan has recently opened in Golden, so we can get quality pizza with good service - done giving Big Daddy...
Read morePizza & bagels? In the same place?!? And they’re some of the best you can get in town?! AND IT’S IN BEAUTIFUL GOLDEN AT THE BASE OF NORTH TABLE MOUNTAIN?!? What?!
Their bagel flavors are so unique and delicious, always baked to perfection. My personal favorite is the cranberry granola bagel🤤🤤🤤 I’ve never had a bagel like it. They’re always fresh, never have a weird or funny after taste like I always get at a chain like Einstein’s. I’ve pretty much tried all the bagel shops in Denver and the surrounding towns, none have ever come close to Big Daddy’s. Throughout both my pregnancies I literally lived off their bagels. I was in 3x a week minimum, both pregnancies! My second pregnancy a bagel from Big Daddies was my first meal after having him, that’s how in love I am with this place.
Their pizza too is fantastic! Pizza is basically all I eat, it’s a problem, but this place is one of my favorites! The employees at this location as well as the Lafayette one odd 287 Are always so nice and kind! People probably think I work here out in public because I wear my “Body by Bagels” shirt all the time because I love it so much.
You guys are my favorite and I will always travel the 25-30+ mins to come get some amazing bagels & pizza. The absolute...
Read moreLying on the outskirts of Golden town:: Big Daddy’s Bagels and Pizza, a sanctuary of culinary delight. Here, amidst the wafting scents of yeast and dough, one partakes in a sacrament of the humble bagel, elevated from a thought in the mind of the baker to a fulfilling lunch.
Upon that fateful morn, a lox on a salt bagel was chosen, a creation both humble and divine. The salt bagel, a celestial orb dusted with crystals of the sea, bore the weight of the lox with a grace befitting a Grecian urn. Each bite, a symphony of taste, balanced the briny song of the ocean with the earthy, comforting embrace of the bagel. The salt, not overly zealous in its presence, pirouetted upon the tongue with just the right cadence, a pas de deux of flavor.
The bagel itself, a marvel of mouthfeel, possessed a texture that spoke of skilled hands and patient ovens. It held within its circular embrace the essence of simplicity and satisfaction, a testament to the alchemy of baking.
Thus, in this unassuming nook of the world, one finds an experience that transcends mere sustenance. Big Daddy’s Bagels and Pizza, in its offering of a lox on a salt bagel, serves not just food, but a morsel of joy, a bite of communion with the tapestry of...
