Black Rock Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Goodyear

I love going and finding the mom and pop coffee shop. I know Black Rock is a chain and at times their locations can be convenient. There are really 3 things that I look for in a coffee shop: 1. taste of the coffee 2. the atmosphere (comfortable seating), music level 3. refills (if I'm paying $4 for a cup of black coffee, I expect one free refill) Today, I had some time to waste so I sat in the lobby and drank my drip coffee and read my book. When I finished my coffee, I went to get a refill. After refilling my personal mug, the cashier went to charge me full price for another drink. When I said it was a refill, they said they don't have refills and quoted the full price. I said I didn't want it then. The cashier then took my already poured cup of coffee and dumped it down the sink. A no win for both parties. You could have had my loyalty with a free refill. However, after seeing that you would rather dump an already poured cup of coffee down the drain, I'm done. I will chose another coffee shop in the future. Review: I liked it here. For a bit. Coffee is good service is lacking.

I pull up to get a coffee with my wife hours after they opened and ordered about $20 in drinks. All I had was a $100 on me so we used that and our free drink. They said they didnt have change so I said okay skip the free drink (ill pay for it) and add a sandwich so it didnt use up their change. Approved $30.

The girl said no , tossed the drink in the trash, gave us the free one (from points earned shopping there) and we left with the one free drink instead.

So instead of just accepting my money and sale they'd rather throw food in the garbage with CLEARLY no desire to provide an obvious repeat customer with a quality service or maintain profit for their employer.

Thats our last visit to black rock. Treat customers like people.

Side note: Dutch Bros had no problem breaking the bill, serving us and not turning their backs to us...

They have good coffee and standard coffee shop food. My biggest issue is the coupons. When they opened they gave out all these $2 try a drink coupons. It has been noting but headache to use them. The coupon will specifically say the size it's for but they will always give you the smallest size. Also they use to let you use more then one coupon per order but now they don't. I wouldn't care if the coupon said this on it but it doesn't. Why give out promotional coupons if you don't want to accept them. And when I say I'm going to cancel the drink because the coupon can't be used they roll their eyes at me.

I will say that I love the other location but this one arguing with me about what the coupon is good for when it's clearly written on it has ruined the location. Other words their promotion made have broken...
