Beautiful place but really bad service. Our waiter acted like he was to cool to be at his job. He took ages to get us chips and then after he only refilled my sister's drink after she asked (and left my friends empty drink) he did not come back at all. Another waitress had to give us our check. The salsa was very mid, the chips were cold, cheese dip went cold because he took ages to get our chips. Our meals were correct but it was okay, my sisters and I's Texas rice needed more rice and my friend's fajitas were just okay. You can definitely have better food from places a few more minutes down the road and better service. I definitely don't recommend going unless you want to waste your money. We had really high expectations but were immediately disappointed by the service we were given. First time I've ever left no tip at a sit-down 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Went a second time the waitress was great! Food was great!!! Way better experience that the first time, expensive but good 🤷🏼‍♀️

I truly did not want to give a okay food rating. But it's just that. Started off with what tastes like old stale chips and went on to just okay chicken and shrimp fajita. It came out lux cold. I was unimpressed. There were no other customers in the restaurant around 1215. Did we miss the memo on staying away today. So why did it take over 20 minutes to take our order? And I saw him sitting with the other workers talking. He checked on us regularly after that. But it really was too late with lux cold food. But when it came time to pay for our check. It took a long time. Come to this place if you want cold food or go to another place. I promise not to come back, unless there is new management. (Maybe, possibly)

Nice new establishment. Well appointed. But very slow, unattentive, and understaffed. No host/hostess. No bartender. 2 wait staff 1 bus staff. Waited for ever for a waitress. "I'll be with you in a moment" 20 minutes later we finally ordered drinks. Then she disappeared again. Had to wait another 10 minutes to get to order food. Almost didn't. But the shrimp tacos were rather good. But overloaded with cheese to hide the few small pieces of shrimp. Salsa: same as the majority, nothing special. Closing out was just as painful. Why wait staff hides out of view vs monitoring your patrons. Could be a great spot but time will tell. Sadly the one across the street isn't much better.

We came here to eat dinner with our family. Our server was Michelle she took our drink orders and went to get our drinks when she came back with our drinks she was leaning over the table to put a drink on the table and ended up dumping six drinks in my lap. Instead of getting up and leaving like we should have we decided to stay in order food and eat. Our server Michelle waited over 20 minutes to apologize to us about dumping the drinks in my lap. What are server bring us the bill at the end of our meal we were charged in full for everything. I asked to speak with the manager about what happened the manager Juan came to our table with an attitude and asked what did we need I explained to him what happened and he said he didn't know any of that had happened he then proceeded to say he was too busy trying to run a restaurant and didn't know she dropped drinks in my lap. Juan then said the restaurant does not offer discounts at all but he would take all six of the drinks off the bill he came back with an updated receipt we paid in cash and we got charged for a credit card fee when we didn't use a credit card I went back inside and asked him to please remove the credit card fee as we paid in cash he caught an attitude and said you got what you wanted you're worried about $2.81 I told him no I didn't get what I wanted I didn't ask for drinks to be poured in my lap I then asked him could I have the owner's name and a contact number because he was being highly rude and he told me I was being rude and it was Cinco de Mayo and he didn't have time to do anything else there was also an older gentleman outside which I assumed was the owner but he told me he wasn't so I asked the older gentleman if he could give me the owner's name and a contact number and Juan started beating on the window of the restaurant and told the older gentleman to stop talking to me and don't give me the owner's name or contact information. We eat at this location all the time at least twice a week after what happened today we will definitely not be back. I will also let any of my family and friends know not to eat at this location as they definitely don't care about their paying customers. Yes the drinks getting dumped in my lap was a complete accident but it was how the situation was handled after it was done and how the manager acted like it was our fault that the server dumped the...

I was looking forward to a new dining experience, El Jalapeño let me down in a big way.

My parents and I were seated promptly, only to find ourselves waiting 15 minutes before we had to ask where our server was. On a side note, the young lady that delivered us chips and salsa was on it... Very prompt! Discouraged that the salsa was more like tomato paste with no heat. I know, some like it that way. At least offer patrons an alternative.

Our server finally came over to our table. She had been hanging out at the hostess stand and claimed she didn't see us sitting in her booth. Eye shot away... She took our drinks and we informed her that we were also ready to order our meals.

A different server delivered our drinks which unfortunately turned out to be incorrect. Mom and Dad ordered unsweetened tea, and received SWEET tea. I think cavities started forming at the sight of it. Yes, this is the South. Founded on sweet tea. 😋

The first meal was delivered, which was also incorrect shortly after. Our server took the plate and incorrect drinks promptly. She returned with the proper request of drinks followed quickly by two of the three meals. The third meal shows up after a few minutes. And this turned into probably my largest concern with the restaurant. The Tamale on the plate, under the melted cheese was still cold/ frozen! BTW, Tamales don't normally have cheese melted on them in America.

I flagged down our server yet again to explain the issue, as well as, requested to speak to the manager.

The manager was prompt and asked if we wanted him to bring another Tamale out, which we agreed to. Unfortunately he returned explaining that the kitchen was out of Tamales. He credited us one meals for this inconvenience.

Now, the food wasn't bad, but also nothing about it stood out to help me see past the issues we just experienced.

This is a new restaurant with seemingly new staff. A clean well lit seating area inside and parking didn't seem to be an issue either. I am encouraged to think they will get past these growing pains and offer a new dining experience for the Goose Creek/ Summerville area. I live by the three strikes rule. However, I will wait a while before putting myself or loved ones into a potential negative experience at El...

On 4/11, I went into restaurant around 5pm. Not many tables sat, especially for happy hour. Maybe 4-5 tables at max sat. First time here. Waited at hostess stand for 5-10 minutes until someone acknowledged me. There was another woman looking to order To-Go. There were 5-6 servers near the back of house. A female came up and took me to a table. Then she left the table. Nothing to say. Another 5-10 minutes went by until another female server came to table. She asked about drinks. She came back at least 5 minutes later. Then she took my order. No eye contact. I put in an order for a Burrito Grande (she replied -“no problem”) and a to-go order for a couple tacos ( “no problem”). That was literally the last time I saw her for 30 minutes. As I watched around the restaurant, which wasn’t busy, the one booth next to me kept getting apologies for the food not coming out. They were there before me. Another couple near the front door, who were there before me, hadn’t got their food either. Again there 5-6 servers, not many tables and not a manager in sight. I waited another 15 minutes, which puts this whole experience around 50 minutes, and then the server came up to apologize. Needless to say, this was unacceptable and a waste of time. Servers were just standing around and staring. No manager going around taking control. As I walked to the front door, I asked that couple how long they were waiting and he said an hour still. There were two girls at the hostess stand. I tried to tell them about this experience and they were dismissive. Just kept saying thank you as they looked at the floor plan. Terrible first experience. Will not be going back. Manager needs to take control and train staff in food and beverage and...
