I used to come here all the time when I was living here, just before the pandemic and up until 2 1/2 years ago. My parents and I ordered EBD at least 3 times a week. We just moved back and this is definitely not the same EBD.
My parents got a gyro with fries and a turkey sandwich with chips. They used to get that exact order every week. My dad literally lived off your gyros for 6 months straight once. Both sandwiches had little to no meat, my dad got maybe 10 fries that weren't cooked all the way, and my mom's sandwich was on stale bread. Everything was cold. My meal was worse. It wasn't even what I ordered so it went in the trash.
My parents ended up tossing their orders out as well. We were so excited to come back and get what used to be amazing food worth every penny, but you guys have seriously gone down hill. Combined, the sandwiches had less than 3 oz of meat between them. I've read some of the other reviews on here where you tell people that the sandwiches are supposed to have about 5 oz of meat each. There wasn't even 5 oz of meat between them. I don't know what you guys have going on at this location, but I think if you actually care about your franchise, you might want to clean house. The staff was extremely unprofessional and the food is borderline illness waiting to happen. Literally. My dad was given frozen french fries. I understand that getting help is hard, but you're better off just closing down a location instead of destroying your brand.
Can't even begin to explain how disappointed we were by this experience. We spent the last 2 years craving EBD and now I'll be lucky if I can even get my parents to go back to a different location. Did you guys sell to somebody else? Is that what this is? Are there new owners or something? This is absolutely not the same food that we lived on for...

I had an encounter with her on tonight, and she was not approachable, had an Attitude and acted like she didnāt want to be of service. She even was talking to the employees in an unpleasant tone, trying to correct them on the situation. As I was leaving, I even told her thank you she did not reply just had the sour face on the whole time. I then turned around and asked one of the employees what was her name they responded and she turned around and said Melissa the Asst GM have a good night maāam in a sarcastic manner. East Bay deli is known for good customer service and great food I am a regular customer at the North Charleston location and they do an outstanding job. This was my 2nd Encounter at this location the first time was pleasing and the second time not so pleasing sad to say it was actually someone off the leadership team that was the problem. Iām sure customer service is the first thing that they teach everyone especially the managers. Having the title doesnāt give you the right to do what you want. Put a smile on your face and play the part that you know you were hired to do. Remember, thereās no I in team. Also in case you forgot without the customers you would not have a job and without the employees, you would have no team. Iām sure corporate, or the higher ups will not be pleased with your action on tonight. So please gather yourself(MEL)and act...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe placed a phone order with East Bay Deli on Thursday evening around 7:30 p.m. ā two sandwiches and a kids meal. We were told it would be ready in 10 minutes. After waiting for 30 minutes and observing several high school-aged employees chatting behind the counter instead of assisting customers, my husband finally gave up and left without the food.
I called the restaurant to follow up and began to explain that my husband hadnāt received our order. Before I could finish my sentence, the woman on the phone interrupted and said, āYes, he walked out as we were bagging it.ā I tried to respond, but she cut me off again with, āWould you like me to refund your credit card?ā I said yes, and she replied, āSure,ā and then abruptly hung up.
Shocked by the rudeness and lack of basic courtesy, I called back. When I asked if she had just hung up on me, she admitted she had, saying, āYeah, I said sure before hanging up.ā I asked for her name and if a manager was available. She told me her name was Hillary and that she was the night manager. When I asked who else managed the store, she said, āBrad and myself,ā and mentioned she would leave him a note letting him know I would be contacting him with a complaint.
I have never encountered such an apathetic and dismissive attitude from someone in a customer service role. It was truly appalling. Needless to say, we wonāt be ordering from East...
