I'm a firm believer in getting what you pay for, but when the two don't match up it makes for a bad experience, which brings us to KFC. It had been quite some time since I've had KFC but I remember those soft buttermilk biscuits, fresh coleslaw, savory mashed potatoes and gravy, and of course those 11 herbs and spices. I was filled with joy when I pulled the doors open. I could smell the food in the background and my taste buds began to tingle. I was overjoyed with excitement until I reached the register. From here it all goes downhill. After about 5 minutes when somebody finally acknowledged I was there, a young lady slowly made her way to the register to take my order. I didn't order anything fancy, nothing special, just the three piece (two legs and a breast) with french fries and coleslaw. Halfway through giving my order the young lady was pulled away as she was actually working drive-thru. Begrudgingly another employee, who I can only assume was the manager, finished taking my order. Some moments later I received my food and I was on my way home. I got comfortable and settled in at the dinner table to enjoy my long-awaited KFC. To my surprise when I opened the box the pieces were wrong which I can tell you is very disheartening. But I continued trying to make the best out of the situation. Upon doing so I moved to the french fries which unfortunately were hard enough to where I almost questioned if I lost a filling. I can feel the disgust welling up in my body as I moved on to the biscuit which had the texture of a 2x4. At this point all was lost but luckily the coleslaw and the sweet tea made it so as to where it wasn't a complete failure. Still, I was unsatisfied so I picked up the phone to call and make them aware. I called numerous times and didn't get any answer and I wasn't about to get dressed and go back out so I figured I'd just take it up with management the next day. 10:30 they opened and at 10:32 I pulled into the parking lot. I pulled on the door and it wouldn't open. An employee who was fiddling with something in her vehicle alerted me to that they weren't open as she went inside. Moments later that employee as well as another came from around the corner and also told me they were closed. Fortunately (so I thought ) I remembered the other from last night so I begin pleading my case as to where I was told that (as per the manager) without a receipt there was nothing she could do. I kind of figured that would be a problem as when I arrived home I realized that there was no receipt in my bag. Now I stand in front of KFC with no food, out $13 and all of the memories that had made KFC so good in days past slowly starting to dissipate. At this point I can tell you I had completely given up and had no faith nor confidence in the skills or abilities of any of the personnel that worked at that location. From my experience it all starts from management, who didn't even bother to come out and see me. All these events would definitely explain the 3.5 star rating. Hopefully when I voice my opinion to corporate tomorrow it will yield...
Read moreIf I could leave no stars at all, I would. My boyfriend and I pulled up to the drive-thru at 7:50 PM on 1/18/19. I am unsure as to if it were a recording or not but it was a man’s voice and we were asked if we were ready to order. My boyfriend politely told whomever it was that we needed a minute. Not even a few seconds later, a woman asked if we were ready to order and yet again, he politely informed her that we were not ready. We were only given a few more seconds before we were asked if we were ready yet, AGAIN. He once more politely said that we needed a minute to look at the menu. The woman said that we needed to come in and my boyfriend asked her why. She told us that she was taking another order and I am assuming she meant inside because nobody was in line behind us or ahead of us. I have bronchitis, hence why we were in the drive-thru. It should not matter though. It should be the customers choice. My boyfriend asked if she was rushing us and she began to get snappy. She repeated everything we had said and why we needed to come in. She was very rude about it. She could have politely asked us to wait for her to take another order instead of being so pushy and rushing us. My boyfriend told her she was rude and she responded with “sometimes.” Unfortunately, I did not catch her name but I am sure the schedule can be checked. It was a woman. That is all I know. The time we arrived was accurate. I am very disappointed with this visit. We have been a few times before but I doubt we will be back now. We were not...
Read moreHave never been so disappointed in a KFC as I was in the Goose Creek KFC yesterday. It being Mother’s Day and my Mom not really being able to go out anywhere much, due to health reasons, that was what she wanted for Mother’s Day dinner with all of us. We got there around 4pm and pulled up to drivethru, waiting for someone to take our order, but no one ever came on. Drove around to go in and the doors were locked. We went back to the drive-thru, while calling my Mom too. Finally began honking the horn, because there was definitely people there, because there were a couple of cars there. All of a sudden we see a female and male employee come walking through the bushes from the next place over from the restaurant. Wasn’t sure at first till we saw their uniformed shirts that they even worked with KFC. It wasn’t until about 40 minutes later before we got our order, because we did order the bucket of chicken and the nugget meal. I can only hope it wasn’t the bucket that we saw sitting on the line back there through the drive-thru window. And the nuggets were so hard we couldn’t even eat them. This KFC in Goose Creek, SC….we will never, ever go to again. Absolute worst service ever! And when we saw them coming through the bushes and heading towards the back door to open, we called from the car and asked if they were open and they kept walking and ignored us....
