This place is amazing! I was really pleasantly surprised the first time I stayed with family in Coulee and tried out Voltage. This is by far the best coffee shop I have ever been to!
The reviews saying it has a “big city cafe” vibe are totally accurate- it’s got personality, it’s quirky, they’re using sustainable disposable materials to package food and drink.
They feature local artists and you can buy art, so worst case scenario there’s always something awesome to look at and best case scenario you go home with one of a kind treasure! They have Voltage tees and hoodies screen printed by hand and the bases are thrifted so they’re all unique. They have a fun selection of local goods and novelty items they switch out from time to time.
The ambiance is awesome- beautifully decorated, incorporating the sign from the old Carpenter Hall. The light fixtures are unique, all the seating is wonderfully mismatched and gives the shop a whimsical feeling. You can choose a hard backed chair, a couch, an upholstered chair… all very comfy and they have toys for kids to play with while you hang out!
As far as food and drinks, the prices are super reasonable! The baked goods are amazing- there’s always a new type of scone or biscotti to try. My daughter sticks with the cinnamon roll, her old faithful, and it’s delicious too! Their fruit cups are always fresh and tasty, and the coffee is always really nicely made.
Overall, I wish this was by my house and it’s one of the things I consider when I think about moving here to be closer to family that lives in the area. It’s...
Read moreThis morning i went to grab a coffee and egg san. There was a krispie treat i decided to get too. No where on that glass case label did it say the krispie had peanut butter. Then I hadnt realized til i took one bite! I went and asked the gal and she said "the label says it has peanut butter. I hope you have an epi pen?" She minimized it all and she wasnt going to give my money back. Until i took a pic of cased label where it said NOTHING about there being peanut butter in the bar. I ended up with a small throat tightening and other allergy signs (nausea, numbness in hands/sweating. I told the gal they need to notify people more clearly and not be so blase about allergies. If i had a straight on attack - i would have gone after them. That is nothing to play with!!! That is essentially dangerous. I try so hard to be careful and usually ask/check. Darn me too! I waited at the Dam in case my symptoms got worse. I thank Creator it was ok but drs say you still may have a strong episode later ---after initial signs so am ready. A little annoyed at that young gal. She needs a lesson in allergies if serving foods. What we we go...
Read moreExcellent addition to the Coulee! Absolutely love Voltage! It’s nice to have a coffee shop in town that has a beautiful space either to sit down and have a delicious latte while you work from your computer, or for community to just come together and hang out. Always great customer service and the owner is very friendly. I love seeing the staff practicing their latte art, it really shows that they’re passionate about the art of coffee. Would be cool to see French press or Pour Over added to the menu down the road maybe?😃 Highly recommend a stop here to hang out whether your local or just...
