It saddens me to leave this review when times are difficult for restaurants, but I am hoping that someone at Mr. Scrib's in Grand Haven takes note and changes how things are handled for the next customer. We picked up dinner tonight which included pizza, a sub and onion rings for family and guests. The roast beef sub was not edible as it was burnt. It was black on the edges and top, the bread was hard, and the roast beef was so overdone it broke apart like potato chips. It even tasted burnt. I called and spoke with someone who informed me, a bit rudely, that I needed to bring the sandwich back for a refund or they would make a new one. We drove back with sub in hand minus a small sampling of it only to have a? manager come to the window to give us our refund. He then proceeded to tell us we had received a perfectly good sandwich; it was not burnt and next time to order it lightly toasted. We told him that it was black, and the meat was hard, but he said that was normal. They did give us a refund which was not the most important thing at that point. A simple...I AM SORRY would have gone a long way tonight. Unfortunately, the customer service was worse than the burnt food. When we left, we both felt that we had been scolded for not "ordering" correctly. We did not know that black is not burnt and it is normal!! You may want to print that in your menu. We may have tried again as everyone makes mistakes, but bad customer service has ended any chance of that happening. Read moreI call at 9pm and ask what time they take deliveries until. They tell me 12.30am. I call at 12.20am and request a delivery.
They consult someone else in the pizzeria and come back and tell me they aren't taking more deliveries. (Who did they ask, why is it arbitrary?)
Well I guess the original answer wasn't accurate and now I'm hungry. Good business practices!
I'm not just a complainer, let me offer solutions:
-When someone calls and ask the question i ask, offer to take their order with a scheduled delivery later in the evening
-Tell the customer that it's normally 12.30, but this fluctuate by the volume of orders and its best to order by xx:xx to ensure your order will be delivered

Read moreUpon downloading the welcome wagon app, thought we would try out mr Scribbs. I called to confirm they still take the coupon, gentleman on the phone said yes. Proceeded with my order, asked what kind of sides they had. All he can come up with was the deep friend mushrooms. I asked if there was anything else. He raised his voice and said I'm looking in my dang book. Ended up ordering the crusty bread. He then said k anything else. I asked dig they could wait 20 minutes before throwing it in, because I am driving 40 mins. He said k. Bye. So soon arrival, the manager said they don't take the coupon. The crusty bread was burnt, and the pizza was okay, but as soon as I opened it in the car to eat it on the way home, both were cold. There's no way they waited 20 minutes to throw it in.
