Would you want to eat here after you see the female owner in the kitchen blowing her nose and coughing then doesn’t was her hands, just continues to prep contaminated food. Yes, the health department has been notified. My family was there having lunch, My nephew was sitting where he could see the kitchen. He saw the woman that usually gets the drinks for the tables in the kitchen prepping food when she coughed and blew her nose then went right back to working on the food without washing her hands! He called her out on what he saw and she apologized profusely. Only because she was caught! Most people can tell this family owned restaurant hasn’t been run well since the original owners (parents) had it. On top of it all, the owners dress sloppy, don’t give a warm welcome and are very gross on the health standards. As long as anyone isn’t looking it will happen again and again. Btw, will they ever get rid of all the Avon junk that has been sitting on the counter since the...
Read moreHoly cow! This place is amazing! After stopping at the dirty truck stop by the highway, we decided to drive 20 minutes out of our way to eat here. SO glad that I did. Firstly, it's a local mom and pop place, which I always enjoy experiencing. Secondly, the food is absolutely amazing. We stopped on day 11 of a 12 day road trip, so I've had my fair share of mom and pop restaurants to compare this to. In 11 days, this is the best food I've had- including the very expensive splurge dinners. Everything send homemade (soup, salad dressing, everything!). Thirdly, the server misunderstood what I ordered (super minor- I didn't even realize my omelette didn't have veggies until I was done eating) and they comped part of my meal even though I want upset, I just wanted to be sure I didn't get charged for the veggies. The only downside is cost. It's $3 extra for hash browns with an omelette and the omelettes are a bit pricey as well! However, they were so good that it...
Read moreI understand being short-staffed can be tough, but it’s no excuse for the poor service I’ve consistently experienced here. When we walked in, all the empty tables were dirty, and we had to wait for one to be cleaned. Once seated, it took 10 minutes just to get a menu. No one offered drink refills, and our server didn’t seem happy to be there. He dropped off the food and never came back—we had to go to the front counter to get our bill. The woman who took our payment seemed indifferent, almost like we were inconveniencing her.
This isn’t a one-time experience; this is the third visit in a row with similar issues. When I expressed my concerns, I was essentially told, 'deal with it or the other option was the restaurant will close it's doors.' It's sad because I used to enjoy coming here, but the slow, inadequate service makes it...
