Why would I want to dine here when the staff seemed to be bothered at my choice of restaurants from the time my girl friend and I walked in? We arrived at around 8 on a Saturday night. Not the peak hours for traffic but not pushing the limits of how late they were open either. We waited 4 or 5 minutes for the host/waitress to finish her conversation with her Co- worker before seating us and ordered out drinks not knowing, at the time, that after she dropped off our drinks we would no longer be receiving any sort of service from any of the staff for the remainder of our meal. 2 trips to the buffet and a trip to the dessert bar generated a lot of dishes by the end of the meal, but the girl who seated us and our server weren't going to let that deter them from their campaign to pretend our table out of existence. After desert the waitress finally dropped off the check, but was thoughtful enough to leave all of the used dishes to keep us company.
So the service was what stands out in my mind the most because the food didn't at all. I'm sure our refrigerator probably had cold Chinese food in it but we decided to go out to eat instead. The flavor wasn't bad and it's the only thing that keeps it from being a 1 star rating, but the food was warm at best and mostly cold.
I don't like giving bad reviews. People really have to work them out of me, but my experience on this occasion was barely deserving of a 2 star rating. I hope that Tso's management is working on improving the areas this restaurant was lacking in, because there is potential with the atmosphere and location. Right now though, I would stick to the Chinese leftovers...
Read moreIf you're looking for Asian food and you want quantity this is the place to go. The food is a hit or miss though. Sometimes you'll find the food is pretty good, but other times the food leaves a lot to be desired, but if you're going to a buffet you're probably just looking to get a large meal and get it quickly.
The staff is much nicer than then people over the Buffet House down the road. Tso is far and away a better buffet then they are. I've been to this buffet several times and every time I go there are families that have their kids running around the place, crawling on the floors, standing next to your table, or people talking loudly on their cell phones, or simply shouting at each other across the room. If you're looking for a quiet, pleasant dining experience this is NOT the place to go. If you don't mind feeling like you're eating in a grade school cafeteria more power to you. Two people can dine here, eat their fill, and walk out with a bill of $20.
If you're looking for a real deal show up for lunch on Tuesdays where it's $6.99 each.
It's good for what it is. But if you're more discerning about where and what you eat it's...
Read moreI am a connoisseur of Asian food. So when traveling from Des Moines, Iowa to Steamboat Spring, Colorado I did a quick online search and found Tso's. We couldn't have been happier with the service, the price & the food! Oh, the food! As we ate we were both making "mmmmm" noises. I am still thinking about it the next day and plan on eating there again on my way home. In fact, the food was so good I asked for the owner to come to my table so I could sing his praises. The fact that the owner was actually there goes a long way to tell the story of why this restaurant is my top pick. Be sure to eat some crab ragoon. It is the best I have ever had. We wished we could take a bucket full with us. Also, don't skip the peanut chicken. It's "to live for". There was only one small issue. When the ticket arrived she had rung up one senior & one adult. I am a senior too (over 55). I mentioned it to the waitress but did not ask her to re-do the check. On Tuesday only seniors eat for $4.99. What a deal! Treat yourself and...
