Del Taco — Restaurant in Grand Junction

This particular location is either really good or exceptionally horrible. I’ve experienced both but the second visit will be the last. First visit to this location was outstanding. Had the grande queso nachos and the queso was great, adequate amount of beans, meat, and the additional cost for guacamole was worth the price because the serving size was great. Second visit was absolutely disgusting. We ordered the grande queso nachos again for takeout. The queso they put on it was tasteless and was like watered down milk in the bottom of the tray of chips. The chips were so soggy they were like cereal that soaked in milk too long. Also, there was literally 2 tsp each of ground beef and beans. Paid extra for guacamole and got less than a tsp on each order. When I called, the manager on duty gave some ridiculous excuse about the food’s quality. She had no response to the meager toppings we got and said that the queso was always thin and then contradicted herself by saying it hadn’t been cooked down enough and that was why it was so watery. If that’s the case, then don’t serve it until it’s the proper consistency! Paid $60 for our order of slop and drinks! Worst of all was I had talked about how great the nachos were and my family members agreed they wanted lunch from there. Everyone was disgusted and nobody ate their meals. This location lost...

They acted kind of rude when I offered to buy a persons meal that looked like they hadn’t had one in a long time. I use taxi’s and when my driver came in to use the restroom and was obviously there to pick me up they told him that the restroom is for paying customers only. I was the paying customer. I think that there are some good reasons to disallow the public into your restrooms than this is fine but they should say. NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. Because every person that walks in there and is with others that they buy for or joins them later so late they missed the meal but are still in your party. I think we could find a more compassionate way of treating each other. When I have been there alone I have not had any issues and have had great customer service. I appreciate that a lot. I also would appreciate it if you didn’t treat my guest with a negative attitude and then extend it towards me because I decided to buy him something a little more sustainable than the $2 menu he was thinking of. That would make em give 5 stars in everything because kindness creates atmosphere promotes kindness so the service would be out of this world and whether the food tasted good or bad. I wouldn’t notice because doing something nice for someone always makes everything feel so good…see where...

This was our second visit to this store. First time around my wife and I walked in and there was no one up front. Waited a second and a gal walked out from the food line and told us we would have to wait at least 10 minutes before she would take our order because they were working on a large order. So we left. Kind of chalked that one up to being a new store and was willing to try again. Went back today and yet again no one manning the register. This time someone showed up sooner and was very polite and courteous. Took our order and we got our drinks and sat down and waited, and waited and waited and waited. Almost 10 minutes to crack out 2 orders of fish tacos!!! Once we started to dig in my wife and I found borderline bad limes! Won't EVER go back to this store as the store close to 25 road outshines this one in...
