Glad for authentic and extremely focused ramen restaurant on Western Slope. KRS makes good effort. Has many great dishes. Sometimes waitstaff has tangles. My suggestion is try to avoid peak busy hours, so you receive the full benefit of the focus on the meal, presentation and guest experience. The brisket ramen is especially good. Time simmered broth - very important. The balance of sushi quantity, cost and style is very good. Some places, too fancy, some lack discipline. Other places, too expensive. Some places make sushi artistic, but silly and miss the point. The Koi Ramen team is striving for a global winning quality level. Better than Kuniko's, nip and tuck with Suehiro, No Coast avoid for several reasons. Koi in quiet waters are colorful and very peaceful. They swim peacefully and bring blessings of peace and also of wakeful excellence. Be aware, it is acceptable to address a service gap with the staff before you become unhappy and feel offended. You will receive the best by showing patience and also connection to the restaurant's care ethic. Speak up as needed and be happy. If one time I experience a problem, okay, next time will be great again :) wabisabi is Japanese for the truth and beauty of imperfection. To want perfection always is a confusion in your mind. Read moreAs a newcomer to Grand Junction, I’ve been eager to explore the local culinary scene, and my recent visit to this charming establishment was a delightful introduction. I ordered the teriyaki chicken skewers as an appetizer, followed by the smoked pork miso ramen, with the addition of a soft-boiled egg.
While the menu noted that the appetizer would include five skewers, only three were initially brought out. Upon bringing this to the attention of the manager, he responded with sincere professionalism and grace. He kindly explained that a recent change had been made to the menu’s portioning, though unfortunately, my particular copy had not yet been updated. In a thoughtful gesture, he promptly brought out the remaining two skewers to honor what was printed. It was a small but meaningful example of excellent customer care.
The smoked pork miso ramen was rich and hearty, with a wonderfully satisfying depth. While the broth was slightly under-seasoned for my taste, a splash of soy sauce quickly brought it to life. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the pork tender, and the added soft-boiled egg was a luxurious touch. I appreciated the subtle heat in the broth, which added complexity without overwhelming the dish. The portion size was generous and comforting—just what one hopes for in a satisfying bowl of ramen.
The service throughout was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. All in all, it was a lovely dining experience, and I look forward to returning and discovering more of what this promising spot...
Read moreNoodles are maruchan ramen noodles for $8 to $14. When this place first opened, at least the broth was good. Now, it seems to just be the maruchan flavor packet in hot water oiled down? The toppings are pretty, though. The edamame appetizer was like trying to eat razor blades. Jalapeno appetizer was amazing. Big stuffed jalapenos with massive amounts of flavor. The rice bowls are what keeps me going back! Depending on the cook..? The protein you put on top will either be a slab of cooked fish or perfectly seared, eye pleasing, very well cut pieces of tuna. The ingredients used in the rice bowls also vary. Sometimes, it's just thrown together, almost as if someone opened random cans of food and put it on top. Other times, it's perfect mounds of well prepared vegetables with each ingredient cooked separately from one another. It all blends together really well with their house sauce or sweet wasabi sauce, no matter the cook (even if you don't eat veggies, it's massively delicious)! I do recommend the chicken katsu for those determined not to eat veggies though. A delicious rice bowl with just meat and sauce. Also, depending on the day, the sushi can be just thrown together or perfectly rolled little bits of...
