Los Jilbertos — Restaurant in Grand Junction

They have great food but horrible customer service in the drive thru. Speaker makes it difficult to hear on both ends. Kept breaking up on my order and they ended up giving me the wrong food. I asked for the right food at the window, and she got rude with me saying “you said you wanted beef tacos.” I’ve never ordered beef tacos there and frequently go there. I asked for the correct food to be made or a refund. They gave me the right food, but added toppings I asked them to take off. The manager came to the window and said, “ I heard you say in the speaker you wanted chimichangas so here they are.” I told him “if you heard me say chimichanga, why did she hear me say beef tacos? All I want is my chimichangas without the toppings.” Manager replies, “this is what you said you wanted.” I asked for a refund so I didn’t have to argue with him and handed the food back. I was very disappointed in how this was handled and the speaker and hard to hear was probably a factor in the wrong order, however customer service and listening skills at the window could’ve been improved as well. A simple, “I’m sorry let me get that fixed for you: what was your order suppose to be?” Taking the time to correct it instead of arguing or placing blame would’ve been more appropriate and could’ve led to the order being right the...

The food is wonderful and very authentic.It is my partners as well as my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Grand Junction Colorado.The food is always fresh.I seem to always go when it is extremely busy but that has been numerous different times so I can't pinpoint the best time to go .It doesn't matter to me to wait considering how great the food is.You also get large portions for each item.They definitely believe in you getting your money's worth.I recommend to everyone who likes Mexican food to try this out if you haven't already.Should you be traveling here or vacationing here you must stop here to try before heading out.I would recommend that you go in to order even if you plan to take home.Most of the time the drive through is wrapped around the building and more.You might get lucky and see only a few cars in the drive through but it has never happened but one time to us in 3 years.So as you try this just keep in mind don't go unless you have some time to spare .You will not have any problems with the food and should you the restaurant is quick to fix .It has never happened to me except a side order of guacamole was left out but it was no problem for them to grab it for me .So I give this restaurant a...

This isn't my first time to visit Los Jilberto's but I can definitely say that this was the worst visit ever. Every other time I have frequented this place the food was great, eventhough the lettuce topping over everything is a bit excessive I believe but still the food was good, until this last visit. I went thru the drive thru for an early dinner around 4p. And it went rather quickly this time which was nice change of pace, when I always have to wait like 8 minutes or more. So I got my food which was enchilada combo. Not hard. Or so I thought. I get home and open the box and everything looks good lots of lettuce like usual. Rice was nice and hot and so were the beans. But then I take a bite of the enchilada and well let's just say I was quite surprised. The cheese inside of the enchilada was cold, completely opposite of the hot rice and beans, and noticed that the cheese wasn't even melted not at all. It's like the cook didnt even try on this one. Just rolled up the cheese inside the enchiladas and left em cold.
