American Donuts — Restaurant in Grand Prairie

Terrible experience this morning. This used to be my favorite donut shop to get my kiddos donuts before school. I was in line behind a guy who was taking a while, the lady who is normally there was very nice to him and patient he must have gotten like two dozen of a variety. After she rang him up she even gave him half a dozen of free donut holes and insisted he take more sauces for the sausage rolls. He thanked her and left no tip left. My turn, we both said good morning then I proceed to With my order of 3 dozen donut holes for my kids and 4 twist 2 cinnamon sugar and 2 glazed cinnamon, and two old-fashion cake donuts. She puts the wrong ones on the tray and I politely tell her not those and was about to point to the one thinking to myself maybe I didn't call it the right name. Before I could do that she looks up at me twisted her face up and says "well which one is it then" with an extremely rude tone of voice. I looked at her I said thank you but nevermind because the guy before me didn't receive treatment that you're giving me right now and I am nice everytime I come in here and that was her third time treating me that way. Disappointed that the guy before me was white. I'm a black woman with dreads🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ Hope not but...

Can't believe I've lived in Grand Prairie for years and just came into this place. The service is amazing, the lady at the counter greets everyone with a warm hello and smile. She acknowledges customers as she serves others and they wait in line. We talked as she served me and I told her it was my first time there. I told her that the heart shaped donut was for my daughter. She asked her age and I told her and she gifted her the butterfly shaped donut. She also gave us donuts wholes for free. And she had cronuts y'all. A cronut is a croissant donut and that was delicious. The selection of donuts and pigs in the blanket is great. It was my first time but certainly not my last. They have way more than just the usual classics, like your favorite kolaches and donuts. 🍩They also offer unique items like delicious croissant donuts, croissant sausage roles, and, on weekends, they even have mochi donuts! 😋 If you haven't tried a soft, pillowy, and slightly chewy mochi donut before, I highly recommend it. ❤️
