Got Rice — Restaurant in Grand Prairie

I have absolutely no idea why some folks are giving such terrible reviews to this restaurant. I’ve been going here consistently for six years. I understand that sometimes restaurants get orders wrong and variations on how foods are prepared from one restaurant to another can sometimes make people upset… But I truly have only had good experiences here and feel that this is the best Chinese restaurant around! Currently they do not deliver - You to go pick it up. It looks like they are not associated with any of the delivery companies right now and they don’t offer delivery anymore. but that’s OK because their food is 1000 times better than any other Chinese restaurant in the area. They put vegetables in their fried rice… unlike some of the other ones. They give huge portions! Their lo mein is absolutely delicious with a slight touch of garlic. I love their beef with mushrooms - they all carrots snow peas and huge chunks of steamed zucchini, we also love there Kung pau chicken, chicken egg foo young and they gladly add mushrooms for us and The General Tsao‘s chicken is so so good and they add steamed broccoli. Most other Chinese restaurants in the area don’t add vegetables or good flavorings. Other Chinese restaurants just give you the meat and when you open the boxes everything is brown and dull. This place makes everything healthy and colorful. So you get a nice good meal that is hot and filling - Everything is fresh and hot and very tasty! The photo I added is the Side of fried rice, plain lo mein, again mushroom egg foo yong with the included gravy and beef with mushrooms. Also included was two eggrolls which I eat as soon as I picked up the order - so they are not in the photo. And the photo shows what was left after I ate a huge plate of lunch. I feel the need to share my experience with Got Rice on Carrier Parkway this evening. We ordered dinner tonight at Got Rice and everything was good except for the Chicken Fried Rice with shrimp added. The shredded chicken in the Chicken Fried Rice was spoiled. We had spent over $50 dollars for dinner and was extremely disappointed by the quality of this dish. We eat there at least twice a month or more. My husband called Got Rice and the lady that answered the phone only made excuses for why the dish should not be spoiled. I asked him to allow me to speak with her and he did. She had told me that they had cooked the chicken this morning (what???) and that no one else had complained. I immediately explained to her what good customer service should be. She should have apologized for the issue even if she did not agree that it was spoiled. Then she apologized and said bring it back for a refund. When my husband arrived, she opened the dish and said that some shrimp was missing. She was going to deduct $1.00 for 1/25 of the dish missing. He told her I was trying to tell you about this issue to inform you that you may have a freezer problem. Instead of appreciating that I brought this to your attention, you became defensive over the dish being brought back for a refund, even though we did not have a problem with the other dishes. I have been a customer now for over 10 years. This has left me with a bad taste of spoiled food in my mouth, as well as, the spoiled customer service provided to resolve the issue. If I could rate this place half a star I would. I went into this location because I was craving Chinese I've order here before and their service is not the best but it was the only Chinese restaurant in the area that I knew of. I order a Chicken lo mein for the first time here thinking it would taste similar to all the other Chinese restaurants that carry chicken lo mein .as soon as I got it I open it before I walk out the store and I could smell something weird and fishy as soon as I go in my car I tried it and It tasted just like it smelled. disgusting. the chicken was dry and no flavor what so ever. I went back in and politely told the guy that it had a weird taste but I've order from here before so can I just get the meal I usually get off the menu. he immediately got offended and said this is the way we cook it and just offered to give my money back. this was poor customer service on his part because I had already waited longer than I was told after placing my order over the phone and I also told him I was pregnant and know that the other meal I got on the menu taste fine but this one just did not . I would not recommend this place and will take my money else where. the food is not worth the price at all as I spent $9.00 for fishy noodles and dry chicken and still have not received the money...
