Cerro Bonito Pupuseria y Panaderia — Restaurant in Grand Prairie

First off let me start by saying we had a party of 11, however there were only 7 other patrons in the restaurant when we came so we didn't overburden them! There were 7 empty tables and it was 5PM on a Sunday.

The food was good, however a lot came out cold. It all came out at different times (which is preferred with large parties so the food doesn't sit while other dishes are finishing up) bit several folks food was barely warm. It took 30 minutes to take our order and another 45 minutes for the food. One to go order walked out as he was tired of waiting on his order to be ready.

Be warned that your second basket of chips is EXTRA, but no one tells you that until you are ready to pay.

The Tamale on the Plato Tipico was masa, with a single chunk of chicken. It was not the typical tamale. The Pupusas were good, and the yuca was good, but we got two tiny pieces of chicharon which were fairly burnt to a crisp.

The food was mediocre in my opinion and with several folks from Latin America in our party let's say no one was impressed with the exception of the one person who had the Torta Cubana who said it was excellent. We went here based off the reviews and was definitely disappointed.

This place used to be called LA CAMPIÑA, and even though is now called CERRO BONITO, the staff and owners are the same but I guess they changed the name to distract the fact that it was once shut down for violations including roach infestations and an overflowing grease trap in recent health inspections… The staff is very careless and the manager is very rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. They make you believe that they will do what you request with your order, but they don’t! and is not until you confront them that they confess that: they cannot add more chicharron to your popusas, because not only is already mixed with the other ingredients; but they ground the chicharron to almost powder so, you never taste it… The place is still dirty and too cluttered with too many tables and chairs that the place can fit so, you have to walk sideways to get to be seated. I definitely don’t recommend this place because they’re attitude, cleanliness and space are terrible… The manager even had the nerve to try to get our plates away from our table but I stopped her and instead of lowering myself to her level; my parents and I left the place without hesitation and decided to...

Las pupusas buenas emos ido varias veses pero en esta ocasion yegue con mi familia y como regularmente acostumbran a servir chips en esta ocasion no y le pregunte ala mesera que si no podia servir un Poco de chips... Nos contesto que ya no avia que se avian terminado dijimos bueno esta Bien y le pregunto a que horas sierran y dijo que alas 8 pm yebamos como 7:20 dijimos pero otras veses emos venido mas tarde y esta avierto .. Buenos nos yego la comida por partes y Al final nos miramos unos con otros y dijimos y los cubiertos aque horas no ... Cuando aparesio la mesera selos pedimos eramos 4 Solo yego con dos bueno ...bueno pues a sin mensionar que no abiamos terminado de cenar y no dijo que si podiamos Pagar porque tenian que serrar caja ...bueno pues yo ya molesto ...y nos dijo que si iva a pasar efectivo o tarjerta cuando nos dio El ticket la verdad Solo mire y le di la tarjerta pero no puse atension de lo que nos estava cobrando y solo firme pues yo seguia molesto..... Buenos Al dia siguiente reviso mis transacsiones y me boy dando cuenta que me iso otro cargo y que yo no autorise ni firme que El cargo no era mucho como 7.75 pero sin yo darme cuenta porque El ticket desia una cantidad y lo que se me cargo aparte lo que deje de propina ... A lo que quiero yegar que me puso aser un cargo mas grande y sin yo autorisarlo fue la cantidad de 7.75 pero pudo aver sido aun...
