My husband and I went here for the first time on Saturday evening. They were less than half full, but the music was loud and the people there seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were told to sit where we wanted. I'm not sure which was louder: the music or the noise from the kitchen. I immediately understood why everyone rise was on the opposite side of the restaurant! It was so noisy I couldn't hear the waitress and she obviously couldn't hear me. She messed up our drink order and brought us the wrong appetizer. Despite not being what we had ordered, the appetizer was good. Our entrees arrived without incident and were delicious, but the service from that point began to fail miserably. The waitress stood across the room eating ice and chatting with a co-worker. Meanwhile, our drinks are empty and we were wanting more bread. We ended up flagging down someone from the kitchen as they went by our table on their way back from a break. We made the horrible mistake of ordering cannoli's. I'm not sure what they did to them, but they were terrible! I couldn't cut into it with my fork or bite into it with my teeth. I ended up breaking it into bite-sized pieces by holding it with my fingers and jabbing the tines of my fork onto the edge of it and breaking it. The filling was much like some horrible store bought cake icing that there was way too much of to be even remotely good. About the only good part to this Cannoli was the chocolate sauce they drizzled all over it. Worst desert I've ever had. We had visited a Roma's in North Dallas off Greenville Ave a few years back. I wager they are ashamed to share the name. This visit was not worth the $50 we ended up paying. We didn't even have alcohol!! So much for trying to support the little guy. I'm taking my business and taste buds back to Olive Garden to satisfy my next Italian craving. You...

Read moreRoma’s is a nice mid week family dinner or lunch spot. The food is good however, it stops shy of being great. The upside is, there has been a discernible improvement in the flavor of the food. In my opinion, a bit more focus on texture would take the food across the finish line. Everything feels like it was taken out just a bit too early. The veal parm crust was not crisp, the mozzarella was melted but a few seconds in the broiler or salamander would give it a crisp bubbly finish. The Alfredo sauce was a bit runny and needed a little more emulsifying with the cheese. The same with the pizza, just a few more seconds or another minute would give it the crisp and crunch we all love. Not pictured was the spaghetti with meat sauce which was absolutely abhorrent. My 7 year old barely wanted to eat it. The pasta was put in a bowl and the sauce was ladled over, it was nearly a soup. The pasta was not covered, we had to transfer it to a different plate to toss for my daughter to eat. Again, a few more minutes would have thickened the sauce. This all sounds like incessant complaining but, the FLAVOR IS THERE which is why I left 4 stars. I will say, they’re starter rolls, are among the best...
