Uptown Theater in Grand Prairie — Attraction in Grand Prairie

Had our wedding there on 10/17/20! It was beautiful and amazing!!! I gave 4 stars because the media system in the lobby area was not that great, couldn't hear music or when DJ made announcements. Need to be careful on the small stage because some boards are loose. One BIG thing that upset me was they cut and served the top tier of my wedding cake... they literally had to tell me several times before I actually believed them because I thought they were kidding. Great piece of history of Grand Prairie beautifully brought back to life keeping the art deco atmosphere of its golden age era, its facade is even spotted in a rare picture of President John F. Uptown Theater is a charming throwback to stage entertainment. The lobby area is upscale with separate areas: foyer, waiting with tv access to the stage, and dining, including a bar.

The seating is spacious and tiered, almost stadium-like, with seats that are puffy, clean and comfortable. The acoustics seem fair and the sound system very good. I've been there over five times and I've enjoyed...
