I was very excited to rent Our Urban Hippie Venue for my small wedding ceremony. I had my eye on it for some time. I love the artsy industrial look the place provided. Prior to booking I asked I’sha if I could purchase more time for set up and come early during the day to decorate so I could go back home and get dressed for the ceremony. Naturally I didn’t want to be sweaty immediately before. She agreed to the situation and I booked the venue. 2 weeks prior to the event, I sent her a text confirming our agreement. I had text messages where she agreed to the arrangement. 3 days before the event I asked to come see it one last time to confirm how I was going to decorate. She let me come during another showing. At that time I asked her if I should text her when I was on my way to decorate. It wasn’t until then that she informed me she booked another event during that time. My ceremony was to start at 5 and she had another party there from 11:30-3:00. I was very upset but I was impressed that I’sha offered to set up my decorations. I wanted to do it myself because I knew how I wanted my decor but I was left with such a short notice and no time to find a new venue. I entrusted her with getting the job done. She told me to bring the decorations the day before which she later complained about. Fast forward to the day of the event. My family shows up to help get the decorations together. The previous party was still in the venue at 3:40pm and the venue was not clean. There was balloons and confetti everywhere. My friend had to run home to get a vacuum to clean up the confetti and the rest of the family helped clean the rest of the venue. Her response to my family getting the event together in time was “she didn’t ask for their help and she said thank you”. If my family was not there to help clean up after her other guests and set up it would have never been done in time. I still tried not to complain. There was a lot of things that were not done correctly which was surprising from some who claims to be an event coordinator. She also took pictures of my decorations as if they were her own. The venue provides 6 linen tables cloths. They linen was stain, dirty, wrinkled and balled up in a basket. We had to buy more linen to cover the stains. During the event we played music which she asked us to turn down. We could barely hear the music and it was ruining the fun. We only played music between the times 8pm-945pm with no base or amp. After the event was over my family tackled cleaning the venue AGAIN! A few things were left behind (8 drinking glasses, brand new rug, a piece of clothing, a brand new balloon pump, confetti, a small bag of trash in the trash can and mop that may or may not have been broken by us). considering they had to clean up after her other guest they were quite exhausted. At 12:06 am, I’sha preceded to send me 15 text messages in the middle of my wedding night about the items left behind. All of these issues could have been addressed in the mornings but she unprofessional texted me during late hours. I responded to her messages the following day and informed her I would Venmo her money for the mop and explained my concerns about the hour she decided to text me and the series of mistakes she made. Instead of responding she blocked my phone number and charged me credit card $50 which I did not authorize. I also asked to come pick up the items left behind and she refuses to respond or provide them to me. Fortunately I had a loving, supportive family that made the best of the situation. Based on the great reviews I had high expectations but was very disappointed in the service, professionalism and cleanliness of the venue. Not once did she ever mention that she could not host my small wedding ceremony in her venue or provide me with any recommendations. If she would have just owned up 2 her mistakes, been apologetic, NEVER text me in the middle or block my # I wouldnt have blasted her abt the disaster she created. They Were Very Insightful And Mindful Of What You Preferred. I Don’t Remember What The Tea Was They Gave Me When I First Arrived But Baaaaaaaaaaaaby That Tea Mixed With My OWN “Flowers” Was Everything (I Consumed My Flowers Before Hand, This Is Texas It’s Not Legal And It’s A Business Ppl. I've attended events here, hosted an event here and had a photoshoot here and each time the space was beautiful, clean, and the owner went above and beyond for myself and other guests. She even made a special prop purchase for my photoshoot.

The space has everything you need to host an event and has subtle touches that add to the clean but warm ambiance. The location is awesome as well. The space was pretty easy for my guests to find & parking was not an issue.
