Condado Tacos: A Flavorful Feast Wrapped in Art

Walking into Condado Tacos feels like stepping into a vibrant street art gallery, where the walls are splashed with bold murals celebrating individuality and creativity. Founded in 2014 by Joe Kahn, a restaurateur with a passion for community and culinary innovation, Condado has grown into a hub for those who crave both flavor and fun. Kahn’s dream of creating a space where everyone could enjoy great food without pretension is alive in every taco served and every brushstroke on the walls.

The menu at Condado is as eclectic as its decor, offering build-your-own options alongside expertly crafted tacos that cater to every palate. For me, three tacos stood out as masterpieces: the Baja Shrimp, The Heater, and the Korean BBQ.

The Baja Shrimp taco is a symphony of flavors. Sautéed shrimp nestle in a flour tortilla, accompanied by rice, jicama slaw, pico de gallo, and a sweet-and-savory mango basil Baja sauce. It’s like tasting a summer breeze from Baja California—light, refreshing, yet deeply satisfying.

If you’re into spice, The Heater is your calling card. It delivers a fiery punch with seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and Condado’s “dirty sauce,” all layered between a hard corn shell and a soft flour tortilla smothered in queso blanco. It’s the kind of heat that wakes you up without overwhelming the flavor, leaving you wanting just one more bite.

Then there’s the Korean BBQ taco, a fusion of Korean-inspired tanginess and classic taco comfort. Tender pulled pork is drenched in a sweet and savory BBQ sauce, paired with jicama slaw, pickled onions, and sesame seeds. It’s an unexpected flavor combination that works so well you’ll wonder why this isn’t a universal staple.

Beyond the food, what makes Condado special is the atmosphere. The art isn’t just decoration—it’s part of the experience. Each mural tells a story, adding layers to your visit that go beyond what’s on your plate. The eclectic vibe invites everyone to feel at home, whether you’re a foodie, an artist, or someone just looking for a great taco.

Joe Kahn, though not originally from California, channels a laid-back, West Coast-inspired vibe into the Baja flavors and relaxed hospitality of Condado. His approach blends Midwest grit with California cool, creating a space that feels inclusive, fun, and unapologetically unique.

Condado Tacos isn’t just a taco joint—it’s a celebration of flavor, art, and community. Whether you’re here for the bold eats or the electric atmosphere, it’s a place that leaves you inspired and full. If you haven’t been yet, what are you waiting for? Grab a Baja Shrimp taco and dive into a feast for all...

We came here on a Saturday night and they were on a 30 minute wait for a table. We were lucky enough to snag a spot at the bar only after a couple of minutes. We each had a drink, dinner, and a shot of tequila. We thought the food was just meh. I had the nachos with steak. There was paper underneath which made it extremely difficult to eat once you got down to the bottom because the paper started ripping and I had to be careful not to eat it. There was rice on them, which i was excited to try, but i barely noticed it and i don't think it added much flavor. My boyfriend had two tacos that he said were okay. I didn't get a close look at them, but he said the inside tortilla was a store bought crunchy shell?? I can't confirm, but a taco place should definitely have their own tortillas in my opinion. The drinks were good though, the habenero margarita was better than many of the "spicy" margaritas I've had elsewhere. It was balanced just right with spicy and sweetness. Overall our service was fine, we sat at the bar and just grabbed whoever was close by. I'm not sure if we actually belonged to anyone since there were 4-5 bartenders around and we got our drinks and shots and food from different people. It was busy but everyone we interacted with...

A Fiesta for the Senses! Condado Tacos is more than just a taco joint; it's a vibrant, energetic escape where bold flavors and fun collide. From the moment you step inside, you're immersed in a colorful world of taco-loving bliss.

We kicked off our adventure with the "Three Buds" appetizer – a trio of tantalizing dips served with endless crispy chips. The Street Corn was a standout, with its perfect blend of sweet and spicy flavors. The Queso and Smoked Cheddar were equally delicious, providing a creamy and cheesy complement.

To quench our thirst, we indulged in a House Flight, sampling the Strawberry, Peach, and Hibiscus margaritas. Each sip was a refreshing burst of fruity goodness. The service was friendly and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable. With generous portions and a lively atmosphere, Condado Tacos is the ideal spot to share good food, great drinks, and...

This is a fun restaurant with a friendly staff. I met up with a small group of friends on a Wednesday night and we didn't have to wait for a table. We ordered a couple of apps and all of them were delicious. The three stars is simply because most of the tacos were labeled as spicy and even the ones that weren't labeled as spicy were pretty spicy. I am not a spicy food lover so I tried to steer clear of all the options labeled as spicy but the non-spicy option was still too much for me. With that being said, if you love spicy food, you will probably love this place. And if you don't love spicy food, you can get some apps and fill up on those.
