I usually have a wonderful experience with Anthropologie and typically their customer service is top tier. I have been to several locations in different states and never experienced anything like I did yesterday. I went to the Brenton Village store location in Grand Rapids to make a return and waited in line for no less than 35 minutes. I have never waited that long, but I was patient and did not mind the wait itself. Once I get to the cashier’s desk I had my bag with the item I was returning and handed over my return receipt. Instead of saying “how can I help you?” or “sorry for the long wait, thank you for being patient” I am greeted with “...and what do you want me to do with this??” in a very rude tone. This was the definition of poor customer service. If only she could see my jaw drop... it was unfortunately hidden behind a mask. Also, rarely will you ever receive a greeting when entering. Making customers feel unwelcome, their team members do not willingly engage with and assist customers.
