Was a fan and loyal customer until this happened. Sat Feb 13 at 9:01pm I called in a order, I was informed that the card machine was down so I needed cash. I said okay I will grab cash on the way. After grabbing cash from my bank, I was all set. They were open until 10p, I got there between 9:45p and 9:50p. All of the lights were OFF and NO ONE was there....? I knocked on the door and no signs of life. I called three or four times and nothing? Just straight up bad service, if you are closing early.. you should at least call and let the customer know. I did nothing wrong and went out of my way to support the neighborhood pizza shop, after being told I would need to go to an ATM. After calling today to nicely explain, the manager lied and said it was an hour and a half, which even if true (phone records easily prove that false) it still is wrong to close early and not even try contacting a customer coming to pick up an order. The most frustrating part is, I have always picked up my orders and always tipped a dollar or two. I have ordered 50-60 times since I discovered it about two years ago, and unfortunately I will never order again. ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK! they might decide to close early and leave without...
Read moreI lived in Alger heights for six years and probably ordered pizza here once a month. The pizza is good, better than chain pizza places. The honey Dijon pizza especially is a real standout for taste and quality. A few of the subs were great! Especially The Godfather sub. However, the service at the pickup counter is extremely shabby. Waits are never long but some of the employees have a bad attitude and once even refused to honor a completely valid coupon I had. This was both frustrating and embarrassing; and the staff did nothing to help remedy the situation. The staff makes you feel like you're an inconvenience when you come to the counter. I found this to be consistently true and not the result of employees having a rough day at work or anything like that. They were always rude and I probably ate here 60-70 times over the years I lived in the area. I never got delivery so I can't speak to that service. To sum it up, expect good food - but don't expect service...
Read moreWe've loved JB's pizza for years, but this weekend we rented the dining room for our daughter's high school open house. I HIGHLY recomend this! It's a cute venue - we hung pictures and displayed trophies, awards, etc and had plenty of room for people to hang out. There are also 2 mounted TVs so we connected them to our computers with HDMI cables and had a 15 minute video that looped over and over.
We ordered a bunch of pizzas/breadsticks/salads ahead of time, but during the party, I could just go over to the window and ask the staff to throw in a few more cheese pizzas or another order of breadsticks and then voila! More food appeared! If you are like me and are 1. unable to correctly estimate the amount of food needed (especially for teens!) and yet also 2. terrified of not having enough food, this is a great solution!
We'll keep ordering pizza from them, of course, but more people should know about this adorable venue for smaller events. A+, would definitely...
