Wow - I found this place at random this weekend and I have to convey my regards to the owner and the staff for going above and beyond. It was a busy morning there and due to miscommunication the staff got my takeout order wrong and one of my sandwiches was missing (and had not been included on the ticket); when I mentioned it to the cooks who had brought out my order, they immediately got to work making an additional sandwich for me and while I was waiting to go up and pay for my additional order, the owner came by and proactively assisted me and insisted on setting things right for me. She was gracious and a really wonderful host, and I was truly impressed by the culture of safety and helpfulness she had built in her staff, and her leadership in taking ownership if the situation -- because I was running late after the delays and needed to go pick up my child, so I was quite taken overall. Beyond this experience, the food was just fantastic. We had two terrific sandwiches, I loved my oat milk honey bear latte, and the desserts (which I wouldn't have ordered but my eyes set me on them) were truly complex and delicious. The peanut butter cookie was balanced, had complex tones, and was not too sweet, and the chocolate croissant was everything you would imagine it could be, and certainly did not skimp on the chocolate. I would easily come here again and immediately recommended the restaurant to friends I met...

Connected with a fellow foodie last week and she suggested we meet at housewife.kc for brunch; a place I’ve been meaning to try since it opened. WOW!!! A cozy little place where before you even open the door to enter, enchanting aromas of earthy spices swirling in the air are enticing you to indulge. We had the:

SALMON TOAST Whipped garlic chive cream cheese generously slathered a rustic slice of bread, topped with smoked salmon, pickled red onions and micro greens. A delicate balance of flavors that made my toes curl!

AVOCADO TOAST All avocado toasts are not created equal! A rustic loaf, topped with creamy avocado, smoky chipotle tomato jam, punctuated by cilantro pepita pesto, pickled red onion, cotija cheese, and micro greens. Rich, creamy, decadence at first bite!

BISCUITS AND GRAVY Soft, Buttery, Flaky, housemade biscuit, bathed in velvety chunky sausage gravy. My dish had the perfect amount of sausage to gravy ratio; the American dream on a plate!

It was a delight to meet Owner Anna (who’s makeup was FLAWLESS/ SLAYING), her beautiful daughter and son, who work at the bistro as well. Our short interaction was very organic; they made me feel welcomed! It was evident that they have a passion for what they do and that passion was translated into their food. This family have successfully made Grandview a foodie destination! Looking forward to everything on their menu!...
