So, I see all this jabber on here about how people are complaining about the price and wait, let me just clear this mess up so that way you can enjoy one of the greatest burgers made this side of the country. First off, the burger is worth more than the 5.25 for a double stack of meat and awesome served and made right in front of you, you can see clearly if there is any funny business going on with your meal, plus as a added bonus you know where the fries came from and can see by the paper bag that you get WAY more fries than any other restaurant in the nation. The wait even if it is busy, (rest assured) is no more than 10 minutes, I have seen the process and worked it as well, home cooked meals with plenty of extras take about as long as these other posters are saying. Added with that you can even look at their menu, just grab a freakin look, they only serve 1. Burgers 2. Fries 3. Two Sandwiches 4. A Hotdog 5. Drinks... That is it, no salads, stupid shakes, or dumb pies so you know that when their menu is this small you know its because they only want to serve you the best Burgers possible, take note. So shame on these random fools for trying to degrade the name and steer you away. Five guys is a fine establishment that was made so you can taste your burger, not grab and go like every other copy paste burger joints, if you want fast food, low prices that skimp on quality and serve everything besides actual burgers, then you are not meant for Five Guys, please leave more of this kind of thinking to the people who want a real burger, again not for these other stupid critics that mark their intelligence by how much a burger costs and how fast it gets to you. What I care about is flavor and ability to enjoy yourself, so please indulge and enjoy this fine piece of America. And dont leave it to Bill the Ignorant Idiot to...
Read moreAt the five guys in grandville, I placed a pickup order on doordash at 9:15pm. I walked in right when it said it would be ready (~9:44). I bought a drink separate from my order when arriving. When showing my doordash order to the young blonde lady (Hailey, not sure if the spelling is correct) she looked back at me a replied with “Kkkk what about it.” I replied with “I was just wondering if I could pick up my order…?” She looked me up and down, and said “We need to finish your fries first before you can get that.” In a really rude tone. My boyfriend walked out of the bathroom mid interaction and later asked me why she was talking like that. Another customer came in pretty late to closing (9:51) and hadn’t even placed an order yet. Seemed like a bit of karma to me. I completely understand the etiquette of restaurants closing. I am a server for one of the best in downtown grand rapids. Now I wouldn’t expect five guys to have 5 star customer service but the blatant attitude and disrespect to not only me, but the guest coming in behind me was ridiculous. The guys in there were all very kind and normal. Hailey was the only one acting this way. Maybe she shouldn’t work the night shifts 🤷🏼♀️ I know from everyday experience you get screwed over in the restaurant industry, but it’s no excuse to make your guest feel out of place...
Read moreI have always had great experience at the location on alpine. I would give them 6 stars if i could. But the one on 44th street was terrible. I ordered my food ahead of time. It took me about 15 mins to get there and had requested food to be made asap. When i got there it was announced that i was there but it didn't seem like anyone actually heard it. I noticed a bag sitting on the counter. I watched as people who walked in got their food nice and hot as i waited for about 20 additional mins in store. The guy after me in line got his food. So i spoke up asking if my order was ready. They looked and lo and behold the same bag that was on the counter when i came in was my food. I asked the lady working how long it had been ready. She lied saying only a few mins. The buns were soggy with grease and the meat was lukewarm. It was the same bag that had been sitting there for at least 20 mins. Five guys on 44th street....if you make a mistake....own up to it. Lying is not the way to go. I will not be returning to this establishment. I hope your alpine location opens...
