Firstly, I'll admit that I'm a "bit" of a fast food junky and hit up establishments like this multiple times a week.
Secondly, Living in town I've been to this establishment easily over 50 times. Of which they have gotten my order right approximately twice.
Now onto the review... This is just today's experience. Although I have so much more hate I could throw at this pathetic excuse of a McDonalds.
Pull into the parking lot and park because I refuse to sit in their drive thru after multiple horrific experiences. I call it the purgatory lane because you're almost guaranteed to be there for at least 20-30 minutes and that doesn't include the time it takes to park, walk back in, and get your order fixed.
Walk in. See they have a new sandwich. Cool let's try it.
Me: Hi How are you?
Her: Good!
Me: That's good. I'll have a double BBQ bacon smokehouse combo please. Large with a sweet tea.
Her: Is that all for you?
Me: That should do it!
(I look at the rung up price and it doesn't match the menu price for even the small combo.)
Me: Did you ring me up for the Double combo?
Her: Yes.
Me: Large?
Her: Yes.
I'm thinking whatever I guess they have some promo going since it is a new combo. I pay. She hands me a receipt for a Sandwich and a Large tea.
I let her know that this is supposed to be a large combo. They decide instead of re-ringing up the order and voiding the old one they will just get me a fry.
I'm thinking I lucked out for once even though they screwed up for the umpteenth time.
As I'm sitting back waiting for food I watch the lady at the fry area filling containers with no gloves on to give out to the poor souls stuck in purgatory in the drive thru.
Order comes up and fry lady hands it to me and let's me know she put a fry in there for me.
I reach in, pull out the container touching a couple fries with my dirty hands as I'm pulling out my medium fry.
I let her know I need a large fry. She proceeds to dump out the fries I literally just touched and throw them back into the fry bin to serve to someone else and hands me a large that was already portioned out next to the fry bin.
This is just one visit and a simple order. This place makes a bad McDonald's look good.
Speed? Slow and slower. Competency? Not there. Sanitary? Hell no. Drive thru? Avoid.
Incompetency at this level begins with management or the franchise owner.
I have seen a lot of highschoolers come and go through this place and the only thing that remains consistent is the terrible service and molasses slow messed up orders every time. I doubt the kids are to blame. I've worked in the food industry and never seen such a severe breakdown at the most basic level like I have at this place.
I hope the franchise owner reads this so they can fire the incompetent sods that run this clown show.
The only reason they are in business is because they are the only fast...
Read moreThe Granite Falls McDonalds will be replaced. A new one is under construction a 1/2 block away. The service from the staff and management at the current location has been spotty (2nd rate many-a-time). Obviously corner cutting, in order to save a buck, has been going on ..for several years. Last year (the entire year) the place was plagued with a leaky roof allowing rain water to drop (very inconveniently) onto the hands and arms and interior of customer's vehicles. Also, of course.. onto the staff as well. Doing business at the 2nd drive thru window, when it was a rainy day, was argerous. It rained a lot in Granite Falls last year. Not a leak for just one morning. Not just a day or even for the week .. but every time it rained... for an entire year! (Did they fix it or is it still a problem as usual, when the rain comes?!). Ever hear of a fast food place running out of the ability to sell carbonated pop? Day before yesterday in Granite. Ever hear of "running out of tomatoes'? Yep, In Granite they do. (for a few minutes? No. For hours? No. Almost the entire day? Yep! Three stars because the staff generally try their best. Management...? don't be expecting anything close to "on par service" from them, in Granite Falls. Not at the current location/ pray for their new place! Zero...

The lackadaisical approach to life, moving at a glacial pace, not paying attention to details, basically all of my previously held expectations of McDonalds as a brand just seems to freeze in place here. It’s definitely not quick.
But the reason for that is simple; the employees here are friendly. They are chatting up a merry storm in the kitchen, stopping to greet a regular customer and shoot the breeze, just generally having a lot more fun at work than I have been used to expecting.
It reminds me not to be in such a rush all the time. It’s reminds me that hearing laughter is a great reward for waiting an extra 10 minutes for my breakfast, when I’ve been so used to being served immediately.
I did find a cat hair in my kids scrambled eggs, so somebody needs to review hygiene with the staff.
Other than that, I will continue to come here because it is the closest breakfast to home without having to cook, and it will remind me every time to just slow the hell down.
Not a bad...
