Recent life events have knocked me down and today I took a chance to actually leave the house and get some coffee instead of making some at home. The decor is nice and the pastries are pretty. However, I had a terrible first experience today...and I only wanted a coffee. I would have preferred to call the store and speak to someone directly, but they do not have a phone number on their website. So, I have to write a bad review instead. The cashier was very pleasant and patiently took my order. While he was taking the order the barista was chatting to another employee. After a minute or so she started a coffee drink and when she finished she came out and announced "Carmel Latte"?while looking at me.No one else was ordering coffee drinks and the restaurant was not busy at all. I said no, because I had not ordered a latte. She assumed I had for a reason that was not clear. But then she realized that she had made the wrong drink. However, instead of making a quick apology and starting over, she looked really annoyed, returned to her coffee-making station, picked up her order receipt and started to correct the cashier on what he had done wrong. Then another two staff members jumped into the conversation. I was still not acknowledged, no apology was forthcoming and the drink was not in process. I told them to forget it, left the restaurant, went to River Road and received pleasant service and good coffee. Bad First Impression, and probably last for a...

Used to love coming here after the Farmer's Market nearby, but no more. They've seriously gone downhill and most of the food is unavailable or inedible. Tried to order the turkey club. Nope. They're out and cant make amymore. Ordered the smashburger but they were out of their burger sauce. The bacon aoili was a nice substitute. Sadly, it was the most flavorful part since it is no longer a 'smash' burger but instead a frozen, pre-formed patty. The new egg sandwich is better than before but OMG the potatoes are unbelievably disgusting. They are an archeological expedition through an entire container of McCormick seasoning before reaching a potato core. Forget trying to order a latte with nut milk. They won't steam your latte because they don't want to contaminate their steamer. So why bother offering it only to serve me a side of cold almond milk and a hot mug of whatever. We used to love enjoying pastries made by our friend, Kate, but they have next to nothing. They have replaced pastries with some new chocolate bars. They are ostensibly 'Dubai' flavors but spelled 'Dubia'. I think we were the...

Really enjoyed our experience here. The staff was cordial and accommodating, the coffee was great and the sandwiches were on point. I got a large house and my wife got a large iced vanilla lattĆ©. As far as food my wife got an amazing fried chicken egg and cheese on a biscuit (I know it was amazing as i stole a healthy bite when she wasn't looking šŸ˜‹) between the pickled red onions and hot honey, I was a little envious. I got a sausage egg and cheese on a bagel which was great but honestly I will be getting the chicken next time for sure. We sat outside under an umbrella but there was plenty of seating inside as well. Plenty of parking. The atmosphere was was kind of country as its next door to the iconic Granville Mill but equal parts modern contemporary. They did a great job transforming the old train station into a trendy coffee house. Pictured you can see my wife's sandwich and kind of blurry in the background is my sandwich. After a generous tip our total was...

Impression started well…Beautiful interior, clean place, friendly people. The breakfast sandwich was perfect, bread was light and fluffy ciabatta with perfectly crisp bacon, egg, and an herb goat cheese spread with pickled onion. Cortado was strong but balanced and served uniquely in an espresso cup which was surprising, probably better in a small glass so you can have more milk but still was great. Their espresso machine is top of the line, a lot of people have great machinery and don’t know how to pull a good shot but this was good. That being said, on my way out I asked nicely if I had to bus the dishes to a bin and I was met with a very sarcastic tone from a young girl that it was around the corner. The tone said, ā€œthis is so obvious and I can’t believe you don’t realize it.ā€ Disappointing. I just don’t have tolerance for being treated like that when I’ve been nothing but kind. Otherwise, good food, big prices.
