I visited Harvest Pizzeria in Granville on Sunday December 10th with 2 friends. One of my friends had been to this location before and said service and food were very good. They were not busy. Service for drinks and ordering was slow. My two friends ordered pizza and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. When our food arrived, I noticed my burger was missing the bacon and one of my friends pizza's was missing the jalapeños. I had to go and find the server. She apologized and asked if my friend wanted them to add the jalapeños and run the pizza thru the oven again or just bring them on the side. Since the pizza was already fully cooked, she just asked for them on the side. It took them 5 minutes to bring the jalapeños out and said the bacon would be out in 2 minutes. 25 minutes later, still no bacon. I had not even taken a bite of my sandwich and watched my friends eat their pizza. One of my friends asked to speak with a manager who came out 15 minutes later. I went outside while we were waiting for the manager. When I came back in, he was at the table speaking with my friends. He told them he was in the back working on paperwork that had to be done at 3:45 which is why he did not come out earlier. He told them he was not going to charge me for the bacon. He was told I was not going to pay as I hadn't even taken a bite of the burger waiting on bacon. When I walked in, he did not even apologize to me. The ONLY thing he did was credit our check. They just lost 3 customers and everyone we can tell about the poor service at...
Read moreI’m extremely upset and disappointed with my recent experience here. I made it very clear—multiple times—that I needed my order to be gluten-free due to health reasons, not just preference. I even double-checked before ordering, and I was reassured it would be handled properly.
When I got home and ate the pizza, I could immediately tell something was wrong. Sure enough, I ended up with an upset stomach and symptoms I haven’t had since starting a very strict elimination diet. I’ve been gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free for over a week, and I’ve been doing incredibly well until this meal set me all the way back.
I can’t express how frustrating it is to feel like all the hard work I’ve done for my health was just undone because my dietary needs weren’t taken seriously. What’s worse—I still paid full price for a pizza that clearly was not gluten-free. That should have never happened.
If you’re going to offer gluten-free options, you have to take them seriously. This isn’t just a trendy label—it’s a medical necessity for people like me. The mistake may seem small to some, but for me it’s not. It affected my health, my progress, and my trust in eating anywhere outside my own kitchen.
I hope this review encourages the restaurant to improve staff training and kitchen procedures so others with allergies or sensitivities aren’t put at risk. I won’t be returning unless I see major changes and...
Read more@GranvilleHarvestPizzaria - Usually I would put a one star if my order gets messed up but I've never had such good customer service after the fact! Not from front of house manager, or even the general mngr, but the Kitchen Manager?! I do believe his name was Mike, or Michael. He's the Kitchen manager anyways, but I was pretty heated when I went to pick up my pizzas (3) and two were completely wrong. This is after I confirmed with the server on the phone that my order will be taken care of with extra care since its been wrong twice 8 months ago! They didn't even match the check.....so then the kitchen manager came out of the kitchen smiling. Which at first pissed me off more! Smiling knowing I was steamed, and then he shook my hand while instantly apologizing for HIS mistake. "It got past me in my own kitchen so I take full responsibility. Also since you've dealt with this before more than once I'll pay for your pizzas and anytime in the future if we ever get it wrong again!" He completely disarmed me within 10 seconds and I then just shrugged it off and said everyone makes mistakes. Now that's a head chef. Actually that is a real manager! Show that man some appreciation and give him a raise or promotion! I'm sure you already do! Thanks again Mike. I hope...
