Learn moreI used to love this place and had been going for years. Had a terrible experience today and the way they handled it makes me not want to go back. First I ordered the Basil Fried Rice level 4 and the price is $10.99. Received the bill and it was $11.90. Gave the waitress my card and the receipt that came back after she swiped my car was for $12.93. Although not a major difference, I inquired on the new price. Was then told the difference was due to it being a credit card and if I wanted to pay the $11.90 price I would have had to pay with cash. In my opinion, that should be told to the customer prior but okay so I took my food and went home.
I ordered a level 4 spice level spicy basil fried rice. When I got home there was not any spice on the rice. And the rice did not taste like it usually does and had a smell. I called to request a refund and was asked well what do you want me to do? I said I want a refund. She puts me on hold and comes back and asks was there hot sauce on the side. I said no but there usually is not hot sauce on the side, you guys usually season the food to the spice level. She then tells me, we can remake it for you. I said no thank you, the whole ordeal has put a bad taste in my mouth so I rather have a refund. She then tells me I have to bring the food back in order to get the refund. I am going to take the food back up there because I don’t want it but as the customer I should not have to waste gas to drive back up there for something that was their mistake.
I definitely will not be back. I am going to try to find another thai spot or go to thai thip in north richland hills. I hate it though because I have been coming to thai riverside for almost 10 years and used to recommend this spot to others....
Read moreUpdate: Tried again a couple of times and left unhappy each time. The spice levels are very inconsistent... one time you order a level 2 and it is on the mild side, another time it is scorching hot, like mine was today. When I spoke to the server, they just shrugged and walked off. Also, my curry was supposed to have snow peas and instead they just put in a bunch of regular peas. Also, no water refills offered.
I am done, this was my last visit. Bad food, unfriendly service -- not worth it!
Original review from a few months ago: Went here yesterday for lunch. We ordered curry and the food was very good. Unfortunately, the overall experience was not. We did not receive water refills. In addition to our dine-in meals we also ordered a meal to go and were surprised to see the price on the bill. It was upcharged and the waitress explained that they charge more for takeout orders. Additionally, when we came home we noticed we were missing a spring roll.
Not impressed at all and really not sure if we...
Read moreThis is a small neighborhood Thai food restaurant. I have been coming to this restaurant for a while.
If you would like authentic Thai food cooked to your order, this is the place for you. Although they only have about a dozen tables, normally there is plenty of Room, of course everything right now is increased spacing for the virus.
My 2 personal favorites there are the tiger beef and they pad tai. They do an especially good job on these dishes, but I've had many other things on the menu and they're all equally tasty.
Make sure you give their various soups a try as well as some steamed dumplings they're a hit.
Do you wait staff there is very efficient and always right on top of all the details, your tea glass will never go empty.
I highly recommend this neighborhood eatery, they're worth going out of the way for.
Try some of the more unusual dishes, I think you enjoy...
