Well decorated with a cute patio, but that’s about all the good I can say about this place. As far as the venue, I spent the whole time there trying to position my head in different places so that the glare off the cars in the parking lot didn’t bother me. As far as food— it was pretty bad— independent of the high prices. Calamari was fine in that it was freshly brought out so still crunchy, but the rest of our food was pretty disappointing. I ordered the Margarita pizza and my friend ordered a mushroom ravioli. Both were pretty bland and flavorless. I would have rather ordered pizza from dominos. I also got a cocktail- Hugo spritz. While I appreciate their effort to make it look like a cool drink by throwing some dry ice in, it is just a very bad idea to put free floating dry ice into a drink. It really should be contained in a pouch or separate vessel. An accidental ingestion could result in burns. Also it result in my drink being frozen at the bottom and having to nurse it much longer. To top it all off — our waitress charged us the wrong price for this cocktail because it was on their happy hour menu and charged us regular price. When I pointed it out to her, she had the guts to tell me — no it isn’t on the happy hour menu. Girl, your happy hour menu only had 4 alcoholic options listed — you should know them. And if a customer points out something is charged incorrectly, go look into it before saying something dumb. She fortunately did take the check back without additional argument and fix it but just one more reason for me to be shocked that this place is bustling with business. I did appreciate the staff does try to be on top of things. They are prompt with bringing stuff out and clearing dishes. They also pack your takeout items. Anyways, would not come back. This is a place for people who want to feel fancy by enjoying the high prices on the menu and the classy decor in...
Read moreThis may be the most elegant redo of any restaurant that I’ve seen in town. Osteria is an Italian seafood restaurant. The interior is elegant and gorgeous. It has a very comfortable blue white theme throughout the restaurant and it’s done so well. You can come here regardless of the hour and it will be an elegant experience. On this occasion, I was here for lunch, I was seated promptly for our reservation. Our server dropped by to check in on me and made sure to fill our water glasses. The cocktail menu had quite a few options. I had to get the Sicilian spritz, the server told me that it had a really great presentation. He wasn’t joking. It was also a really great flavor. It was probably one of the best versions of aperol spritz that I’ve had in town. For an appetizer, my friend and I split the goat cheese bruschetta it was so flavorful. It comes with about five pieces, which is enough for a table of four as well. Well if you want to share because honestly, it could be someone’s entrée as well for lunch, I got the vegetable frittata. Now I don’t normally get frittata at restaurants, but this one was different. It had potatoes, mushrooms, cheese and arugula to top it off. It was so tasty and flavorful. I was very pleasantly surprised. They did a beautiful job. My friend ordered the lobster sliders for her entrée and they also looked decadent. For dessert, my friend just had her birthday so we got strawberry shortcake. The flavors were wonderful, the ambiance was out of this world and our server was the best....
Read moreI have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about Osteria Italian Seafood. In a time when I’ve surfed a wave of negative dining experiences, both in sub-par service and less-than-desirable food quality, it was so refreshing to be able to write a glowing review of one of Louisville’s newer restaurants.
The moment we entered the establishment, we were promptly greeted and ushered to our table. Our server for the evening, Chrissy, was absolutely phenomenal. Not only was she friendly and pleasant, she was also very knowledgeable and informative about the menu options. Her service throughout the meal was an A+, and the support staff was just as good. Drinks were refilled before they were empty, and the meal service moved at an appropriate pace. Even the manager stopped by our table just to check on us and see if we needed anything.
We started with the Garlic Herb Monkey Bread, which was a hot, soft, and delightful pull-apart treat, and more than enough for the table. The wedge salad was fresh and a generous amount, served with a creamy buttermilk dressing. Some of the entrees ordered were the Mushroom Alfredo Rigatoni, to which I added shrimp, and the Lasagna Rotolo. Both were prepared to perfection, and were served with Italian bread. There were several desserts that I would have loved to sample, but we just couldn’t eat another bite.
Overall, an incredible experience, and we’ll...
