They’re getting two stars b/c at least the service was okay. But this food was gross. I was here 11-23-21. I searched and searched online for a good breakfast place and this restaurant consistently came up at the top of the list. I saw the sign as I parked that said “12 years Best of The Bay” award or something similar. I thought not to judge a book by its cover when looking through the windows. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, sourdough toast and coffee. The eggs arrived partially cold which revealed that they had made them earlier and they scooped a spoonful or two onto my plate from a container. It was also oily or covered in butter in some parts, probably margarine. The bacon had been done the same way and it was floppy. Floppy bacon is gross. Next, my sourdough toast was barely toasted. It had toast marks on it but it was completely soft. It was bread, not really toast. The butter didn’t even melt into it b/c it was cold, too. The coffee was mediocre. Breakfast isn’t hard and I was one of three customers. The servers got to stand and talk a lot b/c they weren’t busy, which is fine, but it shows you can’t use being understaffed as an issue. If this is “the best of the bay” then Green Bay desperately needs some more breakfast restaurants. I just wanted a nice meal. I was in GB b/c my daughter was having an emergency eye surgery and I wasn’t allowed to wait inside b/c of the C-vid protocols, which I could rant about as well. If you’re starving, this place will work. If you’re looking for something satisfying and delicious, go somewhere else. This place needs to revamp their business. I felt like I lit my money on fire when...
Read moreterrible service, phoned in an order. used their menu online to place order. I called in 2 hearty breakfasts (12.49 each) and a single stuffed French toast (10.99). they did not give me a price over the phone, but doing rough math was going to be about $38 bucks with tax. I thought no big deal. I drive from work to pick it up. get there and it was $47 dollars. hmm doesn't seem right. maybe I looked at wrong menu item. I don't say anything. come back to work. looked and seen I did look at correct prices. called there and explained that I think I got over charged. the explanation was we charge 90 cents per Togo order. and I told the lady even still 3 Togo orders at .90 cents a piece doesn't add $9.00. she then proceeded to ask what menu was I looking at like I pulled up the wrong one. I told her I went to your direct website and clicked your menu tab. going off your menu. she said oh well we upped the prices 3 months ago. a hearty breakfast is $16 bucks now. I told her than you should change the menu bc I wouldn't have ordered from there had I know I was paying $16. she said oh ill let my manager know about the online menu. and it seemed condescending when she then said is there anything else I could help you with. if you're going to up your prices then you should change the menus before upping them. seems like false advertising. Wonder how many other people ordered food with the wrong menu, thinking they were paying one price, getting charged another and not noticing or just dealing with it...
Read moreTypically whenever I come here in the morning I get great service and great food. Maybe the staff was having a bad day or this was a hiccup in their time of service.
My experience: I walked in with an associate and we asked for a table for 2. The waitress walked us pass 6 open tables and put us in the corner where the fire escape door is where there are 3 open tables and booths away from the next diners. She said, "it's a bit cooler here to keep you away from the hot area." I just kept my coat on and posititioning was fine, I like the privacy for what we planned on discussing. We got the menu and she asks for drinks, and we just wanted water. 15 minutes pass and we're wondering where the waitress is and I ask my associate when does he have to be back from lunch break. He said there's no time limit but we're both a little hungry. I glance around and everyone has recieved their food or chatting the the waitress. I notice 2 other waitress wiping down tables. We haven't even put our orders in and the diners who just walked in a few minutes after we were seated got their orders in already. We chose to leave to Asian Taste across town.
Like I said, the food here is great if you can get it. I think we're in a pretty diverse city and wouldn't think that race and/or prejudices would be an issue in this instance, but anything is possible. I would give them a 1 star but atleast they seemed welcoming at first and gave us waters.
Might try again but won't be first...
