J Taps Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Green Township

Good food. Services suck. I came in early about 45 min early for the Bengals' game, and I sat there for about 30 min until a waitress in pink came and ask if i needed something. I ordered a beer from her, and one of my buddies came. Another waitress in sport pants came and ask if we needed something. I told that waitress that the waitress in pink took my drink. Anyway, the waitress in sport pants took over and became our main waitress. We had a group of 5 total by the time the Bengals started their game. During the first half, we were waiting to to get our drinks in, and it took forever to get another drink. One of my friends only had one drink and would have stayed longer if our waitress would come around or handed to another waitress if she had too many tables. The bar is not big, so the work should have divided evenly. Anyway, we left after the half of the Bengals' game, but we had to flag another waitress to get our main waitress to bring our checks. That was the first time i have ever tip a waitress 10%. I have always been nice and give 20% even if it was slightly bad service. But this was the worse case. I have been to the bar twice in the same weekend, and the first time i let it go with the bad service. I think my friends and i will not be going in for drinks. This is more of a...

Love the food from here. The overwhelmingly "bar" atmosphere is not our style, but we get takeout regularly. That's not a negative, just wanted to mention.

Reduced one star because of two reasons: (1) the time provided for when the food will be ready is always wildly inaccurate. My food is always either (a) cold from sitting or (b) not ready and I am forced to wait for up to 20 minutes. I don't mind waiting for food, but the kitchen should be able to help make the time estimates much more accurate.

(2) the service staff is mostly nice, but rarely are they wearing the required face masks (except over their chin) during the COVID-19 pandemic, and once we witnessed one associate actually made a very flippant and unprofessional remark to a customer when asked to wear their mask. Nor do the managers/owners enforce their own posted rules regarding staying at your table with your party. My family went somewhere new for a good burger everything was going well until my husband went to pay. He was told to cash out at the bar which he did! He was waiting for a while till someone could help him and while he was gone the waitress kept looking in on me an my 2 kids. When we got up to leave she chased us out of the building and asked where our check was.my husband said he paid the tab at the bar. If she is the one who told him where to pay why would she assume we didn’t pay! Maybe Check up front first! Or maybe it was the color of my husbands skin! Being a biracial family in a mostly white environment I feel as like she pre judged us for something we are not. After going to the car I went back in an politely told her she was way out of line and that she no longer deserved the tip he had left her but we are not the type of people she thought we were so the tip was left for her but I asked that she thinks before she judges people and treats people like that again!
