Do not shop at Kroger, Western Hills, in the evening. I was there at 8pm, they had only TWO traditional registers open, each had approx. 6 customers. The other Quick Check registers had approx. 5 or 6 customers , and the SELF-CHECK had 5 people at the registers (one register was out of order). There were at least another 4 or 5 people waiting to use the self-check registers behind me.
I am not accustomed to using self-check. The register seized up 4 times, requiring intervention by the cashier monitoring the lanes: I wasn't the only one having trouble with self-check: 3 others had trouble as well.
The manager walked over from behind the customer service counter... the monitoring cashier explained that she was extremely busy. I said to the manager, "She wouldn't be so busy if you opened more registers."
The manager responded, " I dont have enough people to do that."
First: This is a common practice for Western Hills Kroger. Second: To NOT have enough staff scheduled in a busy store during until at LEAST 9pm sounds like EXTREMELY poor planning.
THIRD: To not plan appropriately by scheduling STAFF to meet CUSTOMER DEMAND of in light of A. Bengals Game B. NEW YEAR's EVE - EVE
I have to wonder why even keep the store open after 8pm? Let DENT KROGER or WALMART take your customers... if you are only going to "half-act" your business. Western Hills Kroger cares nothing...
Read moreI like the plaza there are several wonderful stores located in one place. Let's see there's Target, Bed bath and Beyond, Bath and Body, Panda Express, Rue 21, Dollar Tree, Sears, Pay Less, Michael's Crafts, and several others I'm sure I've forgotten. The only thing is there's a high crime rate in the entire area, so stay guarded, I have seen police presence several times, which is a good thing, but it also means there are enough criminals for them to be there. We were actually in Michael's one night and about a dozen teenagers bombarded them and ran in and ran out with high priced goods. This was right about closing time and it was my friend, myself about 4 other shoppers and about 3 employees. Their policy lock the doors! I don't want to be locked in a store with desperate people, please change your policy. So for these reasons I suggest giving yourself plenty of time to be done shopping before closing, put goods in your trunk, and lock...
