Waste of time- literally. If your hours of operations begin at 11am, you need to be prepared to serve your patrons at 11am.
I got there at 12pm, with my mom, to be told that the pholourie, doubles AND roti "wasn't ready yet" and that they "are still mixing things"- ah okay.
In trying to be accommodating, and wanting to support my people (as a Trini born and raised), we decided to place our order and walk around to kill time.
At 12:45pm we got out food (and the restaurant opened at 11am), but the service of the front desk was deplorable. There were no apologies for the wait. When I asked about the Pholourie (which they did not have, despite letting me order it)- I was told I was "asking a lot of questions." And when I asked who the manager was- deflect, deflect deflect. I walked out of the establishment saying "they don't have to worry about getting my business again."
I was hoping that the food would be the saving grace.... it was not. I have never in all my life had a bad Roti- until today. The chicken and curry- tasteless, and the potatoes were cut big big like dumpling. The Doubles? Something smelled off. I took one bite of each and said "nah sah."
Waste of time, money and energy.
My recommendations: if you want tasty Trinidadian food and a side of attitude (Caribbean Palace), if you want tasty Trinidadian food and good service at a sit down establishment, I recommend Trini Vybez or St. James in DC. For pastries, go to Crowne Bakery.

Read moreI had a very terrible customer service here. I came in during my lunch and on walking into the restuarant i met this older male, he didnt say a word to me. I noticed he was leaning his ears towards my direction but i wasnt sure as i dont know who work there. He hand geatered me to place my order which i did. While waiting i was wondering if he had a speech impediment. I looked up and saw a food sitting at the counter and the older male was doing something else. I wasnt sure if thats my food, i looked at him and he hand geatered once again for me to pick up my food. At this point i had concluded he had a speech impediment. I wanted to satisfy my curiosity and i asked him if he talks. To my amazement he responded. I asked why he didnt feel the need to speak at any point and how thats not right, and he decided to argue out his point verbally. I took my food and left.
I was looking forward to pacify myself with my food despite the disrespect i had encountered. I was even more shocked. The chicken wasnt well done, and the curry wasnt well seasoned. Overall the whole experience was a waste of...
Read moreFirst things first… the food was superb. I was pretty in shock at how tasty each and every item we ordered was. We ordered chicken curry, jerk chicken, Mac & Cheese, Fried Plantains, Curried potatoes w/Chikpeas, & lentils and not a single item was lacking flavor & savoryness! Food easily was a 10/10. Service on the other hand was ehh; we had to grab our own menus and kind of sit ourselves on some dirty tables which was a little surprising considering the place had seemed to be a restaurant but thankfully the food made up for it. I kid you not though, food was delicious and the prices were also very reasonable. Each dish you see in the picture attached was $15 and was more than enough to fill you up. If your in the mood for takeout, this is a hands down top tier spot to go to
Order: Jerk Chicken, Rice & Peas, and Fried Plantains and...
