I’m one to barely leave bad reviews but today my visit to the ihop in greenbelt was just very bad. I ordered the cali turkey sandwich , when biting into it I can immediately tell the turkey was not good. I took the turkey off the sandwich to inspect and it had a rancid smell to it. I tried picking out the turkey and eating the sandwich without turkey but I could still taste that awful flavor the turkey left. I set the plate to the side since I lost my appetite after having the turkey. Is there any sort of quality check / control before service? The server never once checked on us after all the food was delivered. We could’ve used some extra napkins and another beverage or another entree. I sat there while my wife was finishing her breakfast. Normally at other places servers check on their tables to make sure everything is good. She never came by to check on us or ask if we’d like anything else. When she FINALLY checked on us after so much time had passed it was to bring the bill and a box…. Can you believe that ? When I was explaining to her the situation with the sandwich she didn’t let me finish and immediately said something along the lines of “I’ll bring the manager over” no apologies or anything. The manager was super kind, apologized , cleared the plates and removed the item from the check. The server who was a lady in her 60s with glasses and long braided hair brought over the receipt and stood over me while I was signing it pointing to the suggested tip twice explaining that’s the suggested tip. I’m not sure if this is what they do to pressure someone to tip them well. I didn’t really care that she was standing over me I wrote $3 , only because I wasn’t if it was a tip pool for the employees or not. There was a kind male white server who bought the coffee over , poured it for us , and bought the food over to the table. Even after I wrote the $3 she asked me what that was on the tip line and I told her it was a 3 on the tip line. She then Again told me about the suggested tip which I replied “I’m not following the suggested tip” she then left upset. Why are you expecting over $8 of tip? I’m one to tip very well but the service was not good at all from her part. $53 for a horrible breakfast . Pay attention to...
Read moreUpdate 12/11/2023 So my hubbie and I went here to get brunch and it looks more like the IHOP when it first opened. Tables and booth seating didn't look worn down like before. From what I could see no slashed up booth seats in sight. Nice Christmas decor was up. Again I ordered my steak omelette which was nice and piping hot with my pancakes. You know what the condiments were at the table.🎉
Now IHOP has these new biscuit sandwiches they promoting. I haven't tried them but I love biscuits. So I was like let me get a biscuit just to try it. Now what was brought to me didn't look like a biscuit...not saying it tasted bad but it sure didn't look like the promotion biscuits is all I am going to say.
Steak omelette has actually shredded up steak chunks in it. So A+.
Original 2021-2022 The waitress was nice and attentive however this place looks like it has taken a massive beating. A few booth seats had huge slashes across them with the stuffing poking out. Tables looked very worn down. Salt and pepper shakers were hard to be found...heck any condiments we had to ask for due to them being missing. We looked at neighboring tables and they were the same. So use to finding salt, pepper, syrup and ketchup at tables but you won't now if you go. The location was slow so staff was just sitting around due to lack of patronage (so understandable). Ordered items and even though it was just my table there at the time we were served some items that wasn't steaming hot but luke warm. I got the steak omelette with pancakes and it tasted well enough possibly better if it was warmer. I use to love this place when it first opened. But the...
Read moreMy hubby and I love going to IHOP for breakfast. It’s our go to place whenever we are out of town or out of state. We attended an overnight event in Greenbelt and decided to stop by the closest IHOP for breakfast and so pulled into this one which is located in a shopping center. The young lady greeted us as soon as we walked in and seated us right away. We looked over the menu and waited for our server to greet us and take our drink order. And we waited, and waited, and waited. Server after server passed us by and no one stopped in. After about 30 minutes my hubby said “let’s leave.” And a server appeared and asked us if we’ve berms helped. I told him we hadn’t been helped so he apologized and took our drink order. It took another 10 minutes before he returned with our drinks. We gave him our food order and waited. And waited, and waited, and waited. Another 40 minutes later our food arrived. Cold as ever. No one likes cold eggs. No one! No butter for our pancake and no silverware. Oh, and no server to ask for anything because he dropped the food off and left before we could ask for anything additional. My husband got up and went to get some silverware and I spotted another server and requested some butter. The butter came but was very cold and wouldn’t melt on the cold pancake. So we ate our cold breakfast and waited for our server to bring the bill. And waited and waited. He finally showed up, totally oblivious that he never checked on us or returned with any butter. We paid the bill and as we walked out the door we told a couple who was waiting to be seated that they should just turn...
