UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER:
Photos have been added to illustrate some of the many examples of burnt or undercooked food received from Ricardo's. To make matters worse, Ricardo's knowingly packaged food in this condition for customers to pick up, rather than taking responsibility and remaking the food before the customer's arrival. Unfortunately, when this issue is addressed at pickup, customers must wait for their order to be remade, causing other items in their order to become cold.
Regarding your comment about "fact checking":
A gift card was issued because it took four follow-up phone calls over the course of a week to speak with someone about an unauthorized charge. During this call, other issues were discussed, including poor food quality and incomplete orders.
Ricardo's has been informed of all issues as they arise. Your kitchen supervisor confirmed that the plastic found in the food was likely part of a package that was cut open, resulting in the cut-off piece ending up in the dish. Accidents happen; however, your comment reinforces the original review’s note about deflecting blame, and your accusation of slander is itself slanderous.
In discussions about ongoing issues, Ricardo's management placed blame on the kitchen staff, employee age, and "employee turnover." "Employee turnover" refers to the rate at which employees leave a company and are replaced.
This review is not just about an incomplete order (missing half of the ingredients) or ongoing order issues in general; it's about how management handled the situation. The representative who initially took the call offered to refund the incomplete order and asked to place the call on hold for manager approval. When the manager picked up, they were rude and condescending, refusing to refund the order due to a "few missing ingredients," again placing fault on the kitchen staff.
It is clear from this review and others that Ricardo's has been consistently inconsistent lately, a fact that management has also previously acknowledged. The difference here lies in how prior issues were handled compared to this situation.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Once a gem in Greendale, Ricardo's Pizza has unfortunately transformed into a disappointing experience. While the staff may be friendly, frequent turnover has led to inconsistent food quality that raises significant concerns. Serious issues have been encountered, such as finding hair and plastic in meals, which call hygiene and safety into question. Many dishes have arrived incomplete or improperly cooked—some undercooked, while others are burnt beyond recognition.
Even more troubling is the management’s rude and dismissive attitude when concerns are raised. Instead of addressing complaints with respect and professionalism, there seems to be a tendency to make light of the issues and deflect blame. For a restaurant that charges premium prices, these problems are simply unacceptable.
For these reasons, I can no longer recommend Ricardo’s Pizza Greendale as I once did. It’s best to look elsewhere, as there are certainly better options that prioritize quality, accuracy, and...

update: 11/14/21 i will say that i believe the review below remains accurate with this addition, the food quality is certainly in the 4/5 star range, the staff is a 3/4 star, but the wait time and ordering process is a 2/3 star. now to be fair, i do not know what happened, but i believe the quality of the food has gone up, the service remains friendly but chaotic, and being seated is nearly non existent when it is busy. upgrade from 3 star to 4 because of quality increase.
this place has great pizza. the staff is usually friendly though they can get very busy. even then the staff is usually friendly and try to be courteous. the appetizers are good though the dishes could use some improvement. the prices are a bit high , but the quality is good, i would say that the price is too high for the quality, though i would might pay full price for the pizza on occasion. i would compare this to one of the better pizza joints (quality of pizza and components) in the Milwaukee area IF the sausage didn't not have gristle, (yes gristle) within it! so close to getting a 4 star! the pizza was very good, but the quality of the components are not very high for this reason i have to give it a three star as of this time. it seems like the quality may be going down slightly.... the seating is a bit uncomfortable and can get very loud! overall if you can get past the loud people and the inability to have a decent conversation from across your table this is a great place,m i usually take my...
Read moreFirst timer! Just warm about Ricardo's. Did take-out, pizza and lasagna. Paid more than $47.00 and an additional tip, so over $50.
Really was hoping to find a great place to get food the take to my 96 year old aunt. We often takeout from That's Amore and we were looking for a great alternative option.
Regarding the lasagna, it was good not great. I expected meat and really didn't find much. Not a bad taste, just average.
Regarding the pizza, again good not great. I bought a family size Marguerite with mushrooms, and added bacon on only half and paid $27.50. My experience at Ricardo's was not enough cheese, mushrooms, or bacon. They added insult to injury by charging me for a whole order of bacon, $3.00, even though they put bacon on only half the pie. Who does that?
What a unique way of doing business. My wife doesn't eat pork, while my great nephew and I are bacon lovers! Some customers get twice as much bacon as others? So readers get the whole story, I'm only out $1.50! But where is their business integrity? Maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing, check out Ricardo's for yourself.
My family has eaten from Ricardo's twice, the first time and the last time. It's not personal, it's just business. The reality is, Milwaukee has many great places where we all can get takeout or where we can go to and dine in. My bottom line and final comment, "Quality is remembered, long after price...
