For those that are new to barbeque or "seasoned" veterans, you have to get your equipment and supplies from Barbeque Supply in Greendale. I purchased an Alfa pizza oven after looking at various sites online and feeling overwhelmed and uninformed on the subject. I decided to stop in the store to see if they knew about the ovens, and the owner, Mike, was a treasure trove of BBQ knowledge. He talked me through the options out there, and how they work. Mike was super patient with me as I coordinated getting a friend to help me take the oven home. Mike was so gracious about helping us load the unit, and gave me excellent direction on dough and wood to get the oven fired up. The first two pizzas were a huge hit in my family, and Mike now has a customer for life. Please stay out of the big box stores and go so the experts at Barbeque Supply. I promise you will learn so much, and you will be excited to created an experience with your barbeque journey, not just a meal. I wanted to learn more about cooking with a backyard griddle so I stopped in to talk with Mike at Barbeque Supply Company. Mike shared his experience working with the Halo griddles. I appreciate that the experience was more about a shared passion for outdoor cooking (and smash burgers) than a high pressure sales visit. I was impressed by the build quality of the Halo and I chose a Halo Elite4B. I am so glad I did! My family has really enjoyed our griddle and my kids have commented on how the food tastes and smells like restaurant quality. I also appreciated that the store has just about everything you could possible need as I prefer to feel products rather than guess at what I might like online. First time in store. Honestly was amazed at the selection of rubs, brines, injections, marinades, and sauces on hand. The two gentlemen in store were very friendly, and took the time when not busy with other customers to converse, and talk about the game of cooking foods. What sets this place apart from others, is while looking over the rubs they let me sample before i made a purchase. This is incredibly helpful especially if trying something for the first time. I should have stocked up in duplicate and even purchased additional rubs. But i plan on returning sooner rather than later. If youre into outdoor cooking like me. This is a must see place...
