Finally got to go check this place out and let me just say it was all around fantastic.
The atmosphere is bright and open with soft, yet colorful, decor. Could do for a little sound dampening, but it wasn't real loud the enTIRE time we were there, so mostly a non-issue. They have a glassed in "patio" with screened windows that can be opened to allow fresh air in and through on nice days. And there was culturally appropriate music playing at a low level so you could just barely hear it mixed in with the talking, which meant it was at a very pleasant volume when there were lulls in the talking volume.
Service was excellent. Karlita was our server and she was really working hard last night. From my vantage point it appeared that she was the only actual server, while everyone else were either runners or bussers. My friend pointed out there appeared to be one other female server, but I didn't really see her doing much, or have a sense of how important her job was. Meanwhile Karlita was running the whole room taking orders, checking for refills, getting add-ons, and processing checks. At the end of our dinner one of my older friends requested some water - right in the middle of Karlita distributing checks (all separate for party of six), so she ended up forgetting about it. With all she was handling I'm surprised she could remember her own name. To me that would not have been a big deal, just a little reminder. Not my friend. She was a bit rude about which I found to be highly unnecessary and inappropriate. So my apologies to Karlita for her behavior.
The food? Oh MY the food was delicious! Everyone loved everything they ordered. I over ordered because I didn't feel like making a lunch for work and could take the leftovers. I had the Chicken Basil Rolls, the Mixed Grill - with Rice as my side, and Cheesecake with a chocolate drizzle. The chicken basil rolls are something I never heard of and was glad I tried them. Very interesting, yet VERY good. I like to order the mixed grill when I go to a new Mediterranean restaurant so I can try multiple proteins and get a good sense of their overall product. Each one was just delicious. Wonderful spice profiles and extremely tender. The roasted vegetables had a beautiful char. They were roasted and served whole or as a half, which made it difficult to cut up as no steak knife was provided, only a butter knife. Now that I think about it, I could have asked, but was just enjoying myself too much I guess. They should be automatically included on the plate when served. The cheesecake was so creamy and delicious. I had it packed to go when I ordered it so I could enjoy it later after my tummy rested from dinner. And I did enjoy it. One of my friends ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake, and another ordered the Chef's Muhallabiya. They both really enjoyed them. OH MY GOSH! I almost forgot. One of my friends ordered the House Mushrooms and let two of us try the sauce. Wow! SO delicious. It prompted my other friend to take an order home with her. I was already taking the cheesecake home, so I'll have the mushrooms...
Read moreRecently my wife and I visited the Lebnani House for our anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was very nice. I was slightly warm at times in the restaurant, but it was a hot day as well.
For the appetizer, the hummus was fantastic, and the bread complemented it beautifully. The blend of flavors was exquisite. I've never had fresh made hummus like that. It was a perfect starter.
The beef shawarma at Lebnani House was nothing short of amazing! Tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, it left me craving for more. But that's not all; the rice served with it was some of the best-tasting rice I've had in a while, and the combination of the two was simply heavenly.
As far as dessert, the baklava and ice cream were exceptional, standing out as one of the best desserts I've had in recent times. The sweet, flaky baklava paired with the creamy ice cream was a match made in heaven.
However, the chocolate lava cake with ice cream didn't quite meet my expectations. It was disappointingly dry, and I wouldn't order it again. I was disappointed at that to say the least.
The service was a bit of a mixed bag. While the food arrived promptly, I found the waiting time for the check and dessert order placement to be slower. It took around 30 minutes longer than expected due to the waitress attending to larger parties. At one point, I even thought she had forgotten about us, which was a little frustrating.
In conclusion, Lebnani House serves outstanding dinner dishes that deserve a solid 5-star rating. The beef shawarma, rice, hummus, bread, and baklava with ice cream were simply superb. The only drawback was the lackluster chocolate lava cake, and the service could have been more efficient. Nonetheless, I still rate this restaurant with 4 stars overall for its exceptional food and...
Read moreHad to find a place near the airport. After some disappointing so-so meals in Milwaukee, this looked good. WHAT a pleasant surprise. The friendly staff and very interesting menu made it a wonderful meal. I ordered the eggplant and beef fatteh, not really knowing what to expect. It was great with an oddly compelling mix of flavors and the fried bread had a nice wheat flavor Because I was starving I also asked for the eggplant salad. WOW I could eat a pile of that. Fresh parsley and a nice smattering of pomegranate seeds with little roasted eggplant made for a very nice mix. I couldn't get enough. My main course was the chicken shawarma as I was intrigued by the peanut butter. I will say I couldn't taste that at all, but it was great. They don't really need to serve it on that dangling skewer. I had the grilled veggies, very nice. My companion had the chicken pistachio bites and she liked them. Her main course of mixed grill featured tender meat and the rice is very nice too. Everything was nicely seasoned and not salty. We asked for some bread to go with it all, the pita was hot, soft and wonderful.
Aside from the pleasant staff, the place is CLEAN. All the time I see the menus wiped off every time they went back to the front; the tables were actually cleaned not just smeared up. I watched staff wiping plates and glasses and really paying attention to a cleanliness in a way I haven't seen in many places. The young man in the suit who seemed to be front of house manager also did these duties, he didn't just stand there ordering people about. I'd go back and recommend. I really wish I'd tried the chicken liver.......
The restaurant was busy with a real mix of clientele so it is obvious they...
