I love using Grub Hub, we order delivery through there pretty regularly without any issue. Tonight my husband and I thought we'd try something different and ordered Gyro27. At the time our order was suppose to be delivered, we recived a call from a very lost delivery driver. We provided him with turn by turn instructions, even offering to go outside and flag him down by the road to make it easier for him! Another half an hour passes and we call the resturant to ask where our food is. They called the delivery driver who stated he was still lost. The lady we spoke to told us the manager was providing their driver instructions and he should be there soon. I confirmed with her our location and provided her with driving instructions as well. Another half hour passes and still no delivery driver. He calls us again, still lost he says. I go over the instructions, telling him what building we are in and what numbers to look for. At this point he was very short with me and rude. No appology. I then call the resturant and ask to speak with a manager. A man answers the phone, doesn't identify who he is, and tells me I live in a difficult to locate area but he will bring us our food. I tell him that will not work for me as it's been an hour and a half now, and if the delivery driver has to come back and then him come back out our food will be soggy and cold and I really don't want to eat that. No appology, no acceptance of blame, he just tells me it is what it is. He can't do anything about it. We wait fifteen more minutes before I call Grub Hub customer service. They are amazing. One ring, someone picks up and he appologizes for the inconvenience. He tells me that he will comp us, and contact the resturant. Five minutes later, the amazing Grub Hub calls back to say that they are aparently outside our door. However, that is impossible as I am standing outside my door. I tell him, at this point it's been about two to three hours and just to cancel my order because whatever food they have for me, I probably don't want to eat or pay for anymore. A minute later we get a text, the order is canceld. I will never, ever order from here again. The staff is rude, the whole experience was horrible and not once did they appologize for their actions. I never got to sample the food, but their customer service skills are...
Read more-5...Food is disgusting. Watch your credit card payments!! They like to add extra $$$ when the total is finalized on your statement. BE CAREFUL. The owner himself stole from my card!! He paid it back after I made a hostile trip back to the restaurant. Still doesn't erase the fact that he illegally stole money from my credit card. Be VERY cautious with establishments like this. And like I stated in the beginning, the food is not authentic and it's HORRIBLE!! The exact amount stolen from me was $4.75. Imagine if he did that 20 times a day. That's almost $2800 unearned profit/month!! Everyone doesn't study their card transactions. I DO!!
After response from owner: Of course I'm going to be upset after I called to see what the problem was with the charge. YOU QUIT ANSWERING MY CALLS PURPOSELY ABOUT THE SITUATION!! So I jumped on my motorcycle and headed to your establishment, seeking ANSWERS. After you examined my statement via my phone, in comparison to the receipt in your possession, the miniscule situation should have been handled. Instead you try and prove, "I ordered something extra POST the original transaction", "why does it say TSQ gyro27 on the transaction charge", "reviewing the receipt over and over and over and over" wasting my time. I'm in your establishment 30 minutes then you decide to dig in your pocket and give me $5. Wasting my time, like you did responding to this review with lies. Human error my azz. My review isn't the only of you being a thief. Tread lightly with the illegal business practices. And as for the food taking the blame, the food IS disgusting to ME. It was my second trip and definitely my last. I regurgitate while eating this sh!! seriously. Meat is too tough and flavorless for my liking. The strips of the gyro are as thick as a hotdog and under cooked. My combination platter was nasty, all the meat was like chewing rocks. The falaffels were extremely dry and nasty. The Greek fries tasted like I was eating paper. So human error is occurring on the grill and in the books....
Read moreI've been coming to this location for over 15 years for gyros. Gyro Palace was fast, reasonably priced with good quality and generous portions. But it is now called Gyro 27. I yern for Gyro Palace to come back.
I had been to Gyro 27 before a few times with no complaints but today's visit started with confusion. On their menu they have a Classic Gyro. They were charging me $11 for a 3 meat sandwich. After a minute of trying to tell them what I wanted, my order was completed and I paid. It seemed to cost more than I remember it did just 2 months ago.
I sat there for several minutes while they made my food. Easily 3 times longer than I ever had waited before under previous ownership. When I received my food, it was very easy to see there was less of it than I remember getting before. When I ate my gyro, it just didn't taste the same. The gyro loaf must not be the same kind as they used to serve there.
Lastly, their menu is too confusing. You can order a sandwich with fries and a soda for one price, or you can order a sandwich with fries and feta and olives for a different price but it doesn't come with a drink. You need to bring a calculator to figure out the best way to order to save yourself some money.
Also, as I sat there and ate my food, unsatisfied, the cashier had to keep asking people that had already ordered what they wanted on their food. (Ex. Chicken sandwich toppings) One woman, when asked, realized that she wasn't getting what she thought she ordered, but didn't care because I believe she wanted to leave with whatever they made for her. She must have waited several minutes before being asked about her sandwich.
All I can say is that I won't be back...
