We drive an 1hr to try this place out after hearing so many great things! Unfortunately we were disappointed. Being the the industry I understand when it's busy, short staffed, etc. After being sat we waited along while before anyone stopped at our table. While several staff were walking around, standing socializing. The guy that finally stopped was very busy, but storage we were being helped. He was very polite, tried to offer us a popular drink We placed our drink order. Patiently waiting seeing he was busy and no other staff members were taking initiative in TEAM WORK! I walked to the bar to ask for waters. The bartender, blonde, shirt hair glass that I had to interrupt from her convo after a couple minutes to ask. Alex if it was for outside. Hello ur 4 ft from us both girls behind the bar were to pre occupied with chatting it up with regulars(which I also understand I'm the industry we please the ones that take care of us) I told her no we have just being waiting right across from u and it's been awhile. She continues her convo with others while making it waters and sure them in the bar. No customer service AT ALL! so I made it a point to tell her THANK YOU! with no acknowledgement. We finally get our adult drink orders. He sits in the table and starts to walk away. I tell for him and tell him we want to go ahead and put it order in. He didn't go to a computer for a good 15 min to put the order in. Fast forward 45 min later after having to finally go find the guy and ask? He decided it would be ok to tell me we're not the only customers. Do I informed him I was in the industry. I understand things must customers don't, but he should have taken the time many any of the multiple times he passed out table to check on us, inform us on updates on food. NOTHING! we finally had to ask another staff member about our food which was apparently sitting for awhile, but he's brought it to us. WITH FULL ORDER wasn't even entered. Our salads and appetizer weren't put in. I would normally ask for a manager, but at this point there were so many staff members standing around as the place started to die down. No one AT ALL made it a point to check on us. I had to glad down someone for our bill. Unfortunately ass someone that depends on tips. I take care of other industry people. Usually I to what my bill is! Unfortunately.. for the first time I left $1. I felt really bad about it. It's bothered me so night. But I also know this is a job, u know how to treat customers, u know how to keep them informed. It's not always the server they just usually get the bring of it. Sadly this server wasn't concerned with customer service at all. So disappointed and I left a note on in our receipt. Waste of a...
Read moreI took my wife here for an anniversary lunch. We had gone on the recommendation of friends who raved about the boneless chicken wings. We ordered a pound and a half of three different kinds. It took a while for us to get even our cups of water, and when the food came the chicken wings were so salty they were inedible. They also tasted like they may have used old frying oil. They basically all tasted the same, extremely salty. When our waiter came by to ask how our food was, he did not even stop to listen to my answer and had to double back to hear that the food was no good. When I explained that it tasted badly and we were finished (we ate about a third), his only response was "so you're really not going to take it?" He then, without comment, unceremoniously removed the plates from our table, and disappeared for 10 to 15 minutes. We had no idea what was going on. We didn't know whether they were going to bring new food, refund the meal, or nothing. We were just left to sit. Eventually the waiter returned and slapped the receipt on our table with the nuggets removed, again without comment. We then waited another 10 minutes for the waiter to return for the card. I literally called a friend to ask if I was supposed to take the receipt up to the front because I waited so long and had no idea what we were supposed to do, if not, wait for the waiter to return. We will definitely not be returning, the service was horrible. The actual meat in the wings was good, but rendered inedible by the sauce. It's a shame, because we had heard such good things about a local business in a town we love.
Addendum 07/18: My sister recently bought us some boneless wings to go from here. They were great, as advertised. It appears our experience was anomalous with regards to the food. The service was still...
Read moreThe following is the email we sent a month ago to The Depot, and I've not gotten a response. You would think we would get a oh we're sorry..but no we've not heard a word.
So diner beware.
Good afternoon, Normally we have throughly enjoy everything about our dinners at the Depot. However, our last 2 weren't enjoyable. We came on February 1st for my birthday, we ordered Tater Kegs, then a few minutes later, ordered our meals. I got my side salad before we got the Tater Kegs. The side salad was mostly the white parts of iceberg lettuce. Got the Tater Kegs, they weren't hot. We then got our steaks...Ribeyes, which our favorite. They lacked flavor, usually there is so much flavor, it's almost to much. Our next visit was on Valentines Day...we ordered the Tater Kegs again, the the Prime Rib special, we got our food before we got the appetizer...again. The waitress said she could take them off, but since she's not the one who brings out the food we didn't think it was her fault. So paid for them and got them later. The prime rib was also lacking in flavor. The Depot used to be our favorite place for steak, it no longer is. Has there been a chef or manager change in the last few months. I believe our prior visit was last fall and everything from food to service was excellent, the last 2 experiences is making us think we probably won't be back. We were seated in the loft and our servers seemed like they weren't as attentive as the ones we've had on the main floor. We thought you should know our last experiences at The Depot.
Respectfully, Dxx and Paxxx Bxxxxx
