IHOP on Ring Rd. is extremely good however they also are extremely slow. My last trip and trips before it have resulted in long waits for service and longer waits for food at the IHOP on Ring Rd. However I think the restaurants hosts are quite quick as far as seating. Every time I go to IHOP I generally have to wait ten minutes for something to drink. Even when there is no one else really in the restaurant;it still takes about that long for someone to show up at your table. However after they get your drinks their very attentive to you and your family or friends. The cook after the ticket gets in the window must sit around for twenty minutes, before making your food. Because it generally takes thirty minutes to get your order. The food I think for a cheaper restaurant is worth the wait though I believe, anyway. Although, how can you get breakfast wrong................oh,yeah there's Herbies worst food in town. The wait at Battleground is quick at IHOP, unless they're busy. Everything is quicker at that one, but the one on Ring Rd. is much closer to my house and its really not all that bad. They're always very polite and its quick to get out of there, because the manager is the cashier generally and if you want a discount for having to wait that long; that is not that hard to get off your ticket either. Since the manager is the cashier it's quick to get the right bill too. However like I said Battleground is better, than any other in Greensboro,NC. Now the last time I went to IHOP on Ring Rd. I had country fried steak, hash browns, eggs and two pancakes. All of which I think is the best thing on the menu though it's all great food in contrast, I have a lot of trouble most of the time when I go there figuring out what to eat. Their food is always prepared fresh tasting in my opinion. It's very well put together as far as taste and everything complimenting everything else on your plate, and there is always enough food no matter what you get to fill you up. However, like I said how can you mess up breakfast foods. But there is an exception as the example earlier. I love their coffee it quite mild and I think it compliments the food perfectly. It's just a great little chain restaurant and I generally do not like chain restaurants cause they leave a lot to be desired. Like taste, because of cheap products that they use. Then a whole lot of chain restaurants are dirty. Then they're lots of other major to little things I hate about chains restaurants. I have worked in most restaurants, so I know what I am talking about unfortunately. Ihop is clean in the kitchen area and the rest of the restaurant is clean too; I like that and the food does not taste like it's cheap either,so you get your moneys worth, at...
Read moreSo my daughter wanted to go to IHOP. I had second thoughts because I had a bad experience at the IHOP on wendover. Which I also did a review on. We go into the IHOP on Ring Rd. My baby orders the grilled cheese and instead of applesauce she wanted Mac and cheese and a root beer to drink. I order the french toast combo with the 4 french toast with strawberry and bananas, turkey sausage links, eggs scrambled hard with American cheese then grits with American cheese with a water light ice. We got our drinks. Didn't take too long for food to come out considering what we have going on with COVID-19. So time goes by and we get our food. Savannah is satisfied and I was also until I seen my grits. I should've taken a picture but couldn't process what I saw and immediately got upset. Again I asked for grits with American cheese. It has been times where I've ordered grits and not specified what kind of cheese I want and they put it on top. But the grits I received were stirred up as if whoever made it was about to eat it. Then I looked at it even more and it's chunks of grits in the bowl. So Victor or Hector whoever was in the kitchen gave me the bottom of the barrel. So I politely called the waitress over manager whomever I told because no one really introduced themselves. I told her I wanted more grits and do not stir them and showed them to her. She goes in the kitchen and he says they're out. Her cook should've communicated with them that he was out of grits when she went back and put out order in. The waitress even agreed with me when I said it only takes 5mins to make grits. I have not EVER went anywhere and you order something with cheese and they STIR IT UP. Not to mention yet again we're dealing with this COVID-19 STUFF. I also told her I wouldn't feed those to my child and I wanted to see him eat the grits and if he was ok with giving the grits to his child he was pathetic. AS LONG AS MY MONEY IS GOOD MY FOOD SHOULD BE GOOD. If you work somewhere and you don't take pride in your work, I'm guessing that's not the job or profession for you. So I was only offered 10% off my bill the kids meal was already free because I purchased combo. Didn't even offer to make some grits for me to leave with because I had lost my appetite by then. Me and my baby won't be back I might not stop the business, but I can stop them from getting my time and hard earned money. I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH THE BILL IS. #CUSTOMERSERVICE...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Typically this is our go to IHOP on the weekend, but this weekend was the worst. Ordered the same simple breakfast, protein pancakes with eggs and bacon also a chicken fajita omelette with pancakes. We sat for about an hour and noticed the server coming with a tray of food unbeknownst to us it was for a couple who came in 20 minutes after us. The server placed the food for the couple who was seated to our right and walked away. About 10 minutes after she came to our table with one of the orders which was the protein pancakes then she moved off to take an order for persons sitting behind us. At this point, we were frustrated because we have not had this experience for all the years we have dined here for breakfast and this goes back to when Ms.Iris was a manager. Unfortunately, we decided to walk out leaving the one order on the table. I called to the restaurant to lodge a complaint, the individual who answered the phone informed me that the manager is busy and asked if I could call back I told her no and she said to hold it may be about 10 minutes. Twelve minutes passed and I hung up then called again, the person the answered said the manager was busy and again asked if I could call back I told her no I will hold on. Within a few minutes a woman came in the phone without announcing her name, to be honest she sounded a bit annoyed. Before going in to detail I asked her name at which point she said “it’s Amanda and I am just trying to figure out what is going on.” I told her I am very unhappy because we spent over an hour in the restaurant and our food was not ready, yet other customers orders were prepared and deliver to their table so we left. Her response was she cannot help if employees call out, the side of the grill where our food was cooked only has one chef, and the side where the couple who came after us has 3 chefs. I told her none of what she said was communicated to us. During our previous visits we typically get our meals in a timely fashion. We have never waited over an hour for breakfast. The restaurant was not packed at all. I did note that there were many to go orders being taken to the front area of the restaurant. Another thing, no hot tea was available. Happy to report we returned home and made a delicious breakfast for 2, hot tea and orange juice included, photos attached. It will be a very long time before we consider returning to this IHOP location....
